Almost always empty, same employees. Good sushi for take-home. They mix the ginger and wasabi into one container sometimes. Prices are decent and run a buy 2 get 1 special.
WARNING! The absolute worst sushi I've ever had the displeasure of eating. Chinese run Japanese restaurant! The rice was dry. The fish was not fresh even by Utah standards. Hard 2 roll limit and they took FOREVER to bring the next round. I got full off of 4 rolls when I usually eat more than 8 (I love sushi). I literally could not tell which roll was which because the rice to fish ratio was so off, like 80% rice. Don't blame covid or the worker shortage because this place was awful last time I was forced to eat here 6 years ago. I've eaten sushi all over the USA and I once got sick at another restaurant and I still enjoyed that experience better than Sushi Yuck (Sushi Yah)Update: My friend and I actually got food poisoning. Apparently according to some of the other reviews this is a common occurrence.Update #2: called SLC health department, apparently they are already looking into the place. Hopefully they get shut down completely!
Great if you want to eat a large amount of sushi for a fixed price and don't mind mediocre quality. Otherwise, go elsewhere and prioritize quality over quantity. The quality is mediocre -- not awful, not great. Most things are smothered in eel sauce which is yummy in some situations but everything tasted more or less the same, things like avocado were missing from the rolls with no explanation, further making all the rolls taste the same. Some of the raw fish in the nigiri sushi was a little fishy smelling.Rice was mediocre quality, too hard, and not vinegared."SUSHI" literally means vinegared rice. Why are they cutting corners on such an important part?Service was so-so, but improved when a different staff member started serving us.We don't regret going, but we won't ever be back.Price is reasonable, until you account for the tax and tip. How is it that we ended up paying nearly $60 dollars for two soft drinks, and a mediocre sushi lunch?I think it isn't a bad restaurant, but a little effort could bring a huge improvement.
My husband and I came here to celebrate his birthday and we fell in love with the restaurant, very comfortable, great service and loved all the food! 100% recommended! ?
I enjoyed the All-You-Can-Eat Lunch here. Got to try 8 rolls, grilled mussels & some octopus nigiri for less than $20. It all tasted delicious but some of the rolls were kinda boring. Still a great place to grub TF out for a decent price!
If you want affordable sushi that actually tastes good and isn't sketchy, come here! Our favorite is the crystal crunch roll! The owner is so friendly. He remembered us after only getting takeout from them twice! We get takeout and dine in here often and have never had a bad experience. Highly recommend!
I went because of the good reviews and was highly disappointed. The quality of the food is poor, most of the rolls we ordered were boring/ not flavorful, and they were strictly doing sushi even though their website listed other food. We tried to order my kids a bento box and the woman snapped no we don't have that they can eat appetizers. The vegetable tempura was yam and potatoes which were bland and overcooked, the spring rolls didn't come with sauce, but on the plus side I did enjoy the gyoza and edamame.
Wow super amazing rolls , they are filling and taste like very high quality . I had the all you can eat dinner for 21 bucks so far I've had 5 giant dinner rolls 2 lunch rolls and 5 appetizers. I ate every last bit of it . I'd eat more it is that amazing but I don't want to eat them out of business hahaha. Do yourself a favor and come eat at this amazing and wonderful restaurant. The staff are great and Japanese I have a lot of respect for their amazing craft . Treat them like gold and they mist certainly return the favor . This place us a 10 star out of 5 man this is amazing.
Ordered the first plate, 2 rolls, nothing I can't handle. When I made my second order, they only brought out half and said they didn't think I could finish. They were pretty rude and we ended up walking out, no longer wanting to eat their food. On top of that, one of the rolls was HEAVY with mayonnaise and basically inedible. It would have been a more pleasant experience if our server had not been so catty.
Amazing food. Great atmosphere. Price is not too bad if you eat a lot of sushi. Honestly I wish I knew about this place sooner.
