Being a big fan of KC barbecue, I liked Sugarhouse a lot, but I wasn’t a fan of the baked beans. This isn’t KC bbq, but it does have the same charring you get in KC. The ribs at Sugarhouse are excellent, some of the best we’ve ever had. The Cherry Smoked Chicken Wings are also very good, as is the coleslaw. Neither of us liked the Greek potatoes. The pulled pork was excellent. The service was excellent.
We wanted some good barbecue, (not that mess from an oven with cheap barbecue sauce poured over it) this is for real! Even though I live in California I will return ~
First time at this restaurant. As we were reviewing menu, we noticed how reasonable the prices were, and because of that we ordered extra appetizers and sides to try a variety of their offerings. They forgot to give us one of the sides and when we questioned the pricing they said it had increased but the menus were not updated. The guy at the register didn't tell us about the price increase. It felt like a bait and switch. The brisket was a little dry and not very tender. Average BBQ place, but probably will not return.
Fantastic barbecue, great food and the price is very reasonable. Lots of gluten free options. We have the barbecue platter with ribs and pulled pork. Fantastic!
Fantastic! I love this place! There's such amazing food and wonderful gluten-free options. They do takeout, but not delivery. I love the restaurant, the food, the employees... Seriously, I must eat here 3-5 times a month.
We love sugarhouse BBQ. The wings are our favorite, and we love the sauces you have. Fry sauce is one of the best in the state for the fries. The brisket is cooked perfectly every time.Only one recommendation, the cornbread recipe needs some work. I order it every time we go here in hopes that it will be better because I live cornbread and every time it is dry, bland, and just not great.
Went for a feast and actually the meat wasn't that much and it was SO DRY we had to leave the brisket and bring it home to cook it with a sauce or something! It's a good fast bbq but f you're looking for proper juicy meat feast, not the place
Before entering the place you can smell that they are cooking some BBQ ? there is a spot of privacy on each table and i like it. The food is 4/5 i liked the steak and ribs but i didnt appreciate the chicken wings, its so dry.
Amazing! One of the best smoke houses I have been to. Cool atmosphere! Probably a good thing I don't live closer. Meat was a little cold when it got to me, but the flavor was amazing. Garlic potatoes are a must, add a little of the home made mustard. Corn muffin was so good.
I was severely disappointed with this restaurant. If 0 stars were an option, I would give them none. The food was dry as hell, bland and flavourless, except the sauces which all tasted like straight vinegar. ? Beyond the food, the restaurant was freezing. We had to wear our winter coats the entire time we were there. The seating, especially the booths, are hard and uncomfortable, which didn't help with the cold. The dining area was also filthy. I'd be surprised to hear they clean at all, we had to search hard for a booth that was at least slightly clean and didn't have chewed up chunks of meat on it or didn't have sticky liquid spilled all over it. We would have left had we not already paid a stupid amount of money ($40+) for food that was not worth it. The staff were nice, but some were acting like a bunch of rowdy teenagers and were roughhousing on the backside of the table we sat at and kept knocking into the faux wall and shaking our entire table. It would have been nice if they did their jobs and cleaned tables instead of play around in the back area. I will personally never go back and advise anyone who is on the fence about this place to take a pass as well. There are way better BBQ places around that are worth the $$. This one definitely was not.
