We’ve eaten several times here, and there is a reason we keep coming back!! Ken is an amazing sushi chef that really lets us eat with our eyes! Not to mention his portions are huge. Best bar I’ve seen in a sushi restaurant with favorite Japanese beers on tap. Big parking lot means no fighting for paid parking in Downtown, you have no excuse not to try!
Brit did an amazing job running the front desk and ALL of the tables and by herself. The sushi is so good, high quality, excellent flavor and a good variety of rolls.
Great rolls and baked mussels. They're going to have a patio open soon.Edit: went back again and our server remembered our idea of the oyster shooters, even better than the mussles. Great place.
Fantastic food! Great customer service.
A very disappointing night. The Unagi Donburi was just not great and at $22, way overpriced. The average cost of Nigiri 2 piece was $5, $6, $7 - crazy! The Spicy Tuna roll was nasty, smelled super fishy. We had the server take it away, she was nice enough to remove it from our check. She actually smelled it and said it smells fine. That is a first, wow. It stunk like old fish and tasted horrible. Furthermore, the unevenness of the tuna in the roll was a disgrace. Definitely amateur hour for this sushi chef. The soft shelled crab roll was actually okay, about average. I am not from Salt Lake, but if this spot is typical of the expensive sushi that is below average, I really feel sorry for the Utah folks.
Food and service was really good! We tried sushi, udon, shrimp hibachi and chicken teriyaki...everything was delicious! The space is very cute and clean. We'll def be back! Highly recommend
I had heard great things about this restaurant. Came with high expectations and high expectations were satisfied. some of the best sushi I have ever had. Seriously. Not joking.
Stopped by for lunch as we were in the area and were looking for a new place to try out. So happy we did - found our new favorite sushi place in SLC. Clean, open dining area with very pleasant and helpful staff. The sushi chef takes pride in his work, taking his time to be sure that the food is prepared properly and presented artfully as sushi should. The Shinobi and Firecracker rolls are fantastic. Plenty of parking in a new business development in a historic part of north Salt Lake. Stopped by again for take-out a couple weeks later and the attention to detail did not disappoint. No question we will be back again and again.
Came here for lunch one Saturday and I’m happy about the new sushi spot in Marmalade! Sushi was good- I actually liked the vegetarian mushroom roll the most. I felt a lot of the roll options were a bit repetitive- like everything had tempura shrimp in it. We also got karagge which was good and crispy. Everything was good, but not great, however they are new and definitely need some time to get settled, it would seem. For being one of two tables everything was a bit slow but I was in no hurry. I’ll be back to try again soon!
I love their sushi and hibachi! Great selections of alcohol also.
