I typically love this place. The sauces are a bit inconsistent though in both thickness and spice level. I ordered it a red curry the other day and it it was mild as can be. Sometimes sauce is too runny. Flavor and service are always good. Their lunch specials are a great bang for the buck. You can pick two different entries which is fun. Owners are great people.
With so many reviews, we knew this was going to be the perfect post tennis dinner. It is located extremely close to 11th Avenue Park,l. Parking is abundant in their private parking lot.As soon as we sat down, please watch out for the large going to keep near the entrance, as we saw several people both young and elderly completely fall over the legs of the instrument. The staff are very friendly and fast. It only took about five minutes from ordering until we got our food. We got a chicken satay appetizer, one pad Thai, and one drunken noodle dish. The satay was incredible. Three giant, moist pieces of grilled chicken were provided with an abundance of a delicious and creamy peanut sauce. The noodles themselves were also incredible. We asked for it to be spicy, and they delivered. Drunken noodles had so much sweet and savory flavor, and the noodles were cooked perfectly and still chewy. The pad Thai was more saucy than other versions I’ve had, but the sauce was still incredible. An abundance of crispy bean sprouts were placed on top to give an excellent texture contrast throughout the experience. One of the main reasons this is an easy five out of five is the quantity, quality and price. Each serving of noodles can easily fill to people alone, and at a price of just $17, it is so good.
This is hands down the best Thai restaurant in SLC, possibly even in Wasatch county. Granted, the food may taste so good because it's been "Americanized", with a heavier amount of sugar added I'm sure. But it's all so tasty! BEST Pad Thai in all the lands. They seem to be a bit understaffed right now (who isn't?), so be a bit patient with them.My photos are the lunch specials of: Chicken Thai Basil Stir Fried & Chicken Broccoli Stir Fried, Yellow Curry & Massaman Curry, Yellow Curry & Chicken Sweet Sour Stir Fried. All amazingly delicious.
I wish I can give this restaurant a zero star!I took my friends there to have a dinner, my friends ordered a veggies tempuras and they didn’t gave us any sauce so I asked the waiter for the peanut sauce and he told me that he will charge me $3.00 per each little tiny sauce that was supposed to come with my tempuras.?I can’t even tell you how horrible the foods taste, and the sauce was awful! This restaurant used to be my family members favorite, we ordered from here at least 3-5 times per weeks and now they cut the portions in half. I used to recommend this Thai food as the best in SLC and now after having a horrible foods for the second times, I will never recommending this place to anyone. They need to replace a better chefs, I want my old Sawadee back please!!!!
They really need to reset their reviews. All the five stars and good reviews were for the previous management. This is not the same sawadee we all loved.Half size of portion, increased price, TERRIBLE service, and most of all, you will taste nothing. The new owner will YELL at you if you complain the food quality isn’t like before. In my whole life, I haven’t seen any unprofessional business owner like her.Don’t be scammed by all the reviews and stars. It’s not theirs.
I can’t even begin to tell you how sad I am. This restaurant used to be our go-to spot! We ordered from here sometimes twice a week for the lunch special. Not only have the portions been cut in half but the quality and flavor of the food tastes beyond average. I used to recommend this Thai food as the best in SLC now after having a horrible experience for the second time, I’m definitely never recommending it again. I’m sad to say but heads up before eating here. Not sure if it’s a new owner ? A new cook? But I want my old Sawadee back please!!!!(See pictured) Also, is this Thai basil chicken? Or peppers with a sprinkle of Chicken ?
Hopefully someone will read these lower rated reviews, I wish I had. My fiancé and I just moved here and everyone we spoke to said this was the best Thai food they’ve ever had. Well, turn out, it was just the most bland and overly sweet meal ever. The flavor profile is almost non-existent. The soup tasted like they poured canned coconut milk into a pot and added old chicken breast. The Red and Green Curry dishes were not spicy whatsoever, and had almost no veggies that they advertised. Usually and am always so happy and excited to try new foods and restaurants, and I have never posted a review before, but this place was just so disappointing. I am sad that something changed recently to make this restaurant go from a 5 star place to a 1 star place.
Food was amazing! Delicious Thai food (as far a small town white girl can judge) no, really it was delicious- even the left overs. We had the yellow curry with chicken and the pad see ew with pork. The service was fine, they weren’t above average in service or happiness and we got charged for the wrong tables food, but I enjoyed my first time there and will go again.
We had an awesome dinner from the food to the atmosphere. The waitstaff was very attentive. We had the orange chicken, Thai basil chicken, and ginger chicken all incredibly flavor. We really missed out on the cabbage soup. When we go back, that will be a must.
Awesome Thai cuisine. Nice place, Great décor and interesting art pieces.
