There are many great independent coffee shops downtown. This is not one of my favorites. The outdoor seating is right off of 400 South which makes it really loud. There may have been other outdoor seating, but this is the part I saw. The large iced coffee was not particularly "large" and I didn't find it very good. I would go a little further south to the Coffee Garden for a better overall experience. Staff is fine though, this is maybe just a personal choice.

My favorite coffee shop atmosphere in Salt Lake city. When me and my roommate arrived the first thing I noticed was just how cozy and productive it feels in here. Almost makes me want to do homework! The employees are incredibly nice and learned my name on my 3rd time coming here, Saysha (hopefully how you spell her name) is really fun and will give great suggestions! I believe the owner also trains each new staff member and makes sure quality control is on point. There’s a second floor for Studying that I really enjoy and I love bringing my laptop to work on school! The coffee is great and while I am not a coffee expert, I would recommend! I’d recommend a honey bee latte- lavender is often easy to mess up but they nail here. They have 45 types of coffee here so I’ve got a lot to try but i’m looking for it!The tables are also clean and everyone and then employees will sweep through the shop to make sure everything is orderly.Great decorations, atmosphere, and great coffee!

This is best coffee/pastry shop Salt Lake can offer. The ambiance, decor, space, cleanliness are all top quality. Knowing that most people are going to give it a 5 star, I’m giving it 1 star to reflect disappointment for one reason- owner tends to like to schmooze with only younger women. When I come to the cafe by myself, I always felt unwelcome or dismissed, even when I try to be friendly. That’s fine, but when I am with female friends, the owner is not dismissive and suddenly becomes friendly towards the girls. The younger guys and one lady has always been kind towards us. The cafe is often filled with college girls who like to work there, often like to talk about how welcoming the cafe is. Got nothing against the owner, very much admire what he has done with the business and the exceptional work on the decor, but would have been great if he was consistent with customer service and not choosy based on gender. It always amazes me how businesses and society today taunt “inclusivity” and “diversity” but exclude males who are dressed business casual, have no tattoos or body art but others who are women, or with trendy appearance , LGBT etc are more accepted as part of the community and preferred for small talks. This is a pattern I see everywhere not just at the Roasting Co

So, I think I have found my new favorite coffee place in Salt lake.First off, they have electric car charging stations, available in the parking lot. (I don't have an electric car, but I think that's awesome that this is an option.)Upon walking in, you can see so many different varieties of colors, yet they have so many chairs available. There's an upper floor, that is awesome if you wanted to kind of sneak away. The employees here are remarkably friendly, and even though it was my first time here, I was greeted by everyone at least once, and they were making sure I had everything I needed.I decided to go with a spiced chai tea... It wasn't the best, but there is so much variety with chai tea that every place is going to taste a little bit different. (Maybe next time I won't get it so spiced)Regardless of, I think this is an awesome place, and have every intention to visit here frequently

Very relaxing and nice atmosphere

The barista didn’t hear me come in, so I popped my head through the curtain. They were incredibly kind and apologized. I recommend, service was good. Kind, apologetic, and fast. I’ll be back! Good atmosphere.

Delicious coffee, beautiful layout, and decor. Staff was nice but under-staffed. Don't come here if you are in a hurry. Nice chill place to do some work and plenty of outlets.Had to take a star off for hygiene. Due to under-staffing the two guys on duty are stuck behind the counter during the morning rush.No one was really wiping down or disinfecting the tables after customers or in a scheduled basis. The non-gender bathrooms looked clean in the AM (when I went).

Excellent place for having a coffee and working/meeting people. The staff are really friendly and the coffee is really good. They also have a lot of items in their menu and it is good. Highly recommended if you are in/ visiting SLC downtown

The smothered turkey sandwich was filling and insanely tasty.

Something about their pastries and vegan options, and their amazing mochas (I can’t get out of there without ordering 2) makes for a lovely experience. I think the atmosphere is pretty great, too, with big windows and friendly baristas.
