The food was very good but the service was not so great. It took about 15 min for the waiter to notice we had been seated - there were only 6 or 7 tables with customers. A manager walked by us twice and never even asked if we had been waited on. The young man that was sitting at the reception area knew we had not been helped buy never said a word.
We can't drive thru Salt Lake City without stopping at Ruth's Diner. Always busy but the service and food is great. Worth the drive to the canyon. Historic spot.
Cool setting in the mountains. Kind of just pops up out of nowhere. Seems super popular, a lot of people wait to sit on the patio outside when the weather is nice. We were lucky enough to get seated immediately inside even though they had a large crowd. The food was great, I thought the biscuits were top notch. I like a large, dense, buttery biscuit and this hit all of those criteria for me. Our server was very friendly, there were some long gaps between visits to our table but they were very busy and it didn't ruin the experience.Would definitely go back.
My wife and I had dinner recently on the patio at Ruth's. Even though we live in the area, neither of us had eaten at Ruth's for several years, and usually when we go there, it is for breakfast. We went early for dinner, a little after 5:00 p.m. on a Friday evening. As always, Ruth's was crowded and there was a wait to get in. If you wanted to sit indoors, you could get seated right away, but almost everyone wanted to sit on the patio. The patio at Ruth's is quite delightful. My wife ordered the red trout with a skewer of shrimp, roasted red potatoes, and asparagus. I got the pan-seared peppered pork chop in a dijon mustard pepper cream sauce with roasted red potatoes and vegetables. We each got a house salad, which was nothing out of the ordinary. The meals were good but not spectacular. The service was good but a little intrusive. As we were finishing our meals, there were two women musicians who were setting up to play that evening. I recognized them from having seen them play many years ago -- Maggie Beers and Julie Mark. Before we left the restaurant, we decided to wait and hear them play a couple of songs. They both played guitars and sang. It was great to hear them play after all these years. Overall, it was an enjoyable evening. The ambiance was quite nice, and the meals were good but not exceptional.
Perfect location, amazing atmosphere. They have great outdoor seating with live music. I was excited to try that place. I will be back for try more but breakfast was disappointing. Hash browns and egg was really bad also french toast. They have nobody for run that place. Servers are not following the details. That’s how you screw Saturday morning breakfast. But who is looking for perfect right? Will be back some burgers and beers. But not for the food just the environment.
Beautiful canyon location. Impressive menu. Good food. Very popular. Meet with friends, take business associates, dates...
We were told to go here by one of the locals, and boy was it a great little restaurant. If you are visiting the area, totally stop here for breakfast, lunch or dinner--they are all good. Lots of history here with the place, turn over the menu and read all about it.
Loved it. Beautiful drive to this cute little diner. First of all, those biscuits! They serve one per person at the table and I think I would come here just to have those biscuits! Oh my goodness they were good. Ate breakfast here and ordered the Ruth's combo. Eggs, hashbrowns, bacon and pancakes. All of it was so good. Oh! Also had their fresh squeezed orange juice. So. Fresh and delicious! I'm gonna have to try the biscuits and gravy next time, for the biscuits alone. ?
Took some out of town friends for a drive up the canyon. They loved the setting of this little diner, surrounded by the mountains. Inside was so cute and we got seated immediately. We all got breakfast dishes and everything was spot on! I got the king of hearts omelette (heavy on artichoke and mushrooms) and I have not stopped thinking about it. Will be back.
Great breakfast, fresh coffee - and a friendly wait staff - always kept our cups full! Fresh biscuits on the table - yum — I had biscuits and gravy and the wife had omelette.. don’t plan on eating the rest of the day!!
