Oh, man! This was soo good. We were seated in this unique cubby that made it cozy for a quiet dinner for two. The server brought all the different types of mole out to let us sample them. We also tried the Chile con Queso. We had the Mole Coloradito and Iguana Plate for dinner, and both were outstanding. For dessert we had tres leches. Our server, Alyssa, was just the best, too. I have absolutely no negatives about Red Iguana.
We went to supper as a family. We made reservations and the table was ready upon our arrival. We started with guacamole and it was great and the portion was huge! I had the red iguana combo platter, it was great, (huge) another at the table had the fish tacos with mahi mahi. It was good but my table mate said she probably wouldn't order it again. The other order was mole negra...it was awesome!! The service is top shelf and the food was great...
Great Mexican food. Service was excellent. Atmosphere very relaxed and casual. Fish tacos were very fresh. The flavors on everything was just fabulous. The mole was amazing just as good as if you were in Oaxaca. Very popular place and well worth the wait. I made reservation on Resy and had no wait. Our waiter Rodrigo was very friendly , helpful and just a great guy. If visiting SLC strongly recommend if you have a craving for good Mexican food.
Went here with a colleague. Wait was shorter than they estimated. Inside was SO busy, but I LOVED it. The decor and atmosphere were immaculate.Servers are attentive and friendly. Food came out quickly. Complementary chips and salsa!I got the enchiladas poblanas and they were incredible!! I left feeling happy and full, but not where I had to food coma after.Will definitely be back again!! (Especially to try the famed mole...)
Went in for dinner - a brief 20 minute wait to get in at 5:00pm Started with a margi and guacamole yum! I had the Mole Negro which was incredible, my partner had the Mole Coloradito which was also very good. Wished I lived closer to Salt Lake City, I would be a weekly regular at the Red Iguana
Food is fantastic and wait staff makes this a truly enjoyable experience. We had the encurditos for an appetizer and they were unique & fabulous!
Some of the best Mexican food we've ever had without a doubt. Looks like this place is crazy busy all day and deservedly so. Try the mole sampler and tamarind margarita!
Best place to eat for authentic Mexican in SLC! You may have to wait for a table, it’s a pretty popular place! It’s worth it! Food and service outstanding! Marjorie was the best! Everything we had was awesome!
Found this place through trip advisor and it was excellent. Real Mexican food. We arrived at 11:30 and the place was already packed. I take that as a good sign. The server was attentive and fast or as busy as she was. We had an assortment of items and all were excellent. The only thing that was a negative was that the margaritas were a bit small.
My family and I made a reservation and were excited to try this famous Mexican restaurant. Unfortunately, I don’t know what the hype is about. The food was average at best. I’ve had authentic Mexican food before and this place is lacking.
