Large, large variety of unique burgers with quality ingredients. Definitely has the hip microbrewery atmosphere to it, whether that's a plus or a detriment, your mileage may vary. They'll even bring your order to you if you pop into their brewery next door. Burger was decent, but the sides seemed a bit too salty. Good portions though, and the back area porch was nice! Would recommend.
I was torn about whether to leave 4 or 5 stars. That had a good burger. I mean, it tasted like good fresh ingredients, but the burgers just weren’t very flavorful. I got the pastrami burger. I couldn’t even taste the pastrami. The sauce was great. And I would go back for the zucchini pickles. My wife got a proper burger. It was pretty bland except for the zucchini pickles. I loved how fresh and soft the buns were.I would probably go back and try one of their spicy burgers. Hopefully they would have more flavor.
AMAZING BURGERS!!! We came down from Montana for the weekend! We are always looking for a good burger and Proper Burger did not let us down! There are so many options! Both the fries (fresh cut they look like) and the onion rings (real beer battered rings) and the proper sauce and frie sauce were all great as well! We tried the Whispers of the Pirmordial Sea, and not really being beer drinkers have to say it was pretty good!! We will definitely hit up Proper Burger when we come back!!!
They're turkey burger was incredible. Not to mention the number of customizable options for it. The fries were also great. I couldn't stop eating them until they were gone. Good beer selection as well. Service was great and very fast especially given that it was packed to the brim. Would definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner.
We were there today in the afternoon and the burgers were fine nothing amazing. We went cause we saw thousands of reviews but the French Fries on both our orders were very burnt. We didn’t eat them the onion rings were fine but very greasy. I literally had to use napkins to take off the excess oils. We ended up dumping our fries cause I didn’t want to deal with making a compliant at the register and being a Karen. So I just decided to cut it short and leave. The sauce that came with the fries was actually really good. I give this place a 2 stars ⭐️⭐️ Because the burger was fine and the sauce was fine but the fries were a huge let down. I only took a pic of the fries at the end before we dumped them. Luckily this place isn’t too expensive it’s quite affordable actually but yeah who ever burns the fries…has to fix them. I’ve been to many burger joints all over in my travels and never has someone messed up potatoes. Here’s a photo of my fries and other stuff before we threw it away.
The brewery side was relatively empty for lunch so we sat at the bar. The bartender was really friendly and gave us great recs for Salt Lake and Park City. They also had a several games (pool, buck hunter, etc). We ordered at Proper Burger and they brought our orders over to us. The folks at the burger side were very friendly and gave accurate advice. My only complaint was that the portion (burger/fries) was relatively small.
Super conflicted! I’ve been searching for the best burger in SLC and finally got to try out this place. Great fries. To die for sauce. Delicious burger… until I found a long scraggly HAIR woven into my burger. Ugh! ? Talk about biggest disappointment ever!!! That’s the most repulsive thing to me! No thanks to built in floss in my food. I’m utterly broken hearted. Also, it was a to go order and the employees were super kind. One other thing, when I went to place my pick up order online it said it would be ready at 7:10pm. Then at 6:10pm my order was ready. A bit annoying but I was able to get there a little earlier than told. I got there around 6:35pm and the worker remade my fries so they wouldn’t be soggy. However, it’s wildly unfortunate that the burger had a hair in it and I didn’t find it until I ate it later at home. ?
Great burger place we tried a bunch of different burgers (pork city USA, Rising Sun, Plain Jane, Johnny Utah, and that Mariachi) and all enjoyed them.
First time visiting Proper Burger after living in the area for 7+ years and we aren’t really sure how we truly lived before now?! Everything was amazing! We really enjoyed the rising sun and proper burgers. In addition, the fries, onion rings, sauces and drinks were all to die for! Bonus that the staff set up a chair and table for us out front to dine with our pup! We were super grateful for the hospitality! We are raving about the food and telling our friends to run, not walk there, and we will be back. Thank you!!
Good food, pleasant atmosphere. You order your food then sit and they bring the food to you. They do have beer for 21+. Two outdoor patios. One covered one open air. Weather permitting for the open air. Parking is very limited. Prices are fair
