The food was overall okay. Nothing special, but good-ish.Context: we went for pickup at dinnertime on a Thursday after calling. We were quoted 30 minutes and ended up waiting an additional 40 minutes or so, due to a large party beforehand. These things happen, so I understand, but given how much time it took, I feel they may need to hire more cooks. There were 2 or 3 servers out front, so I think they have enough there.Pricing and value: the prices we paid were incorrect, according to the menu on their website and the one pasted outside of their door. The salads we got were double the price on their menu ($2 for a side salad with an entree normally, but we paid $4 each) and one of the entree items was $1 extra compared to their menu item. I'm not sure if there was a misunderstanding/mistake or if we were charged extra because we were doing pickup, in which case we weren't told, but we noticed these errors too late. Entrees are in the $20 range and their tiramisu slice was $6, as of the time of this writing.Food quality: The salads were very normal Caesar and garden salads, but they packed a lot in our to-go container. As most people have mentioned, their complimentary bread was delicious - it was a very yeasty and warm focaccia! The counterperson told us they could give us more if we wanted while we waited, so we took them up on that offer. Very generous of them, and very good bread! For entrees, we ordered a gnocchi Bolognese ($19), per the recommendation of other reviewers, and a fettuccine limon with extra chicken (+$3). Interestingly, the fettuccine was priced correctly compared to the menu ($22), but the extra chicken was a very small handful of chicken that was dry. We were not impressed. I thought the sauce was undersalted, but very, very bright/lemony. My partner says that the sauce tasted like it was made with no cheese, only heavy cream and lemon. I could believe that. The pasta itself was nothing special (like store-bought pasta).Unfortunately, the gnocchi wasn't anything special, either. It wasn't bad, but I've had better in terms of texture and size. The Bolognese tasted like spaghetti-o's sauce - very sweet and the tomato pieces size made us think that they probably just used canned tomato (which is okay, but kind of takes away from a "handmade" feeling). Eventually, I used some of the bread to sop up the sauce because it was too sweet alone and gnocchi did nothing for it.On the other hand, these meals were filling. The tiramisu was also not bad, but really tasted like it had coffee flavor but they did not use coffee liqueur. Nothing really "popped" in the cake, and it was good, but not very satisfying. Texture-wise, it was very fluffy and wet on the bottom, like a typical tiramisu. We still tipped for pickup, so the final bill came out to $70 for two people. This isn't so bad for dinner, but perhaps not worth the (wrong?) prices and what we got.It was a disappointing experience, but given the other reviews, maybe we just came on a bad day, or maybe they have a new cook in the kitchen? 2/5, I would consider coming again, but under different circumstances. But I'd probably try somewhere else out instead if I had the option.
Great cream sodas, tasty pasta. Fantastic customer service.
The oil and bread, and the Gnocchi was some of the best I've ever had!
The restaurant was wonderful! We were having a ton of trouble finding a place that could accommodate our group and they were able to take a reservation of 15 on very short notice on a very busy weekend! They were very kind and quick with service! The food was delicious and our last minute reunion was saved!
Stopped in before going to a show across the street. All our entrees were good, including the lobster ravioli which was amazing. Service was good and timely, even with at full capacity.
Favorite Italian restaurant of Salt Lake City!
This place is delicious. My husband and I first discovered this cozy restaurant during COVID when the streets of SLC were deserted. We have come back several times since. It is Amazing, homemade, authentic food! My go to is the Spaghetti Pomadoro and my husband loves the Alfredo Limón . We have had several dishes but these are our absolute favorites. Their Ceasar Salad dressing is an absolute 'Must Have' also. This place does Not disappoint!!
We stopped in Friday night, and thought we would try it on the way to the symphony. She said they were booked but could probably squeeze 1 of us in. Not even 10 min later we were seated. The wine was good and I liked the bread a lot. Dip in it olive oil and vinegar with pepper!! I ordered the mushroom ravioli and my husband got the garganzola gnocchi. My side salad was nice and the blue cheese dressing was very good. The entrées were amazing!!! The ravioli was delicious with a cream sauce that I loved. The gnocchi were perfect, some of the best I have had in years. Service was very friendly and fast. We will be back!!
I was hungry and wandering around looking for food when I stumbled in here. I thought it was a nice little Italian place. We had the lobster ravioli, mushroom chicken risotto and bruschetta. We cleaned our plates. The staff was great
The service was wonderful. Zero complaints other than the bread was pre sliced in a 2" hotel pan in a soup warmer. Tough as hell and super chewy bread. And apparently in this photo is what they call Italian Antipasti. Lunch meat cuts of cheese and 4 slices of pepperoni, with a handful of plain arugula over a few beyond soft olives. And for the low, low price of $18.99? I still tipped 20%, because the server was nice, but c'mon. You guys can do better than that. Harmon's is around the corner. That's litteraly an abomination of anything that resembles edible. I left because if that's what the app looked like, I had zero interst in what the entrees looked like. Yikes! And the cheddar cheese just blows me away. That's so lazy. And get it together with the wine list, or lack there of. You're a downtown establishment. You oughta act like it.
