We were looking for a local Middle Eastern restaurant and read the review of Mazza on Trip Advisor. We had called ahead to see if they would hold a table and they did. Small restaurant that was fun. Great starters. Good food and very friendly staff. Located in a cute area of Salt Lake City.

We had the opportunity to dine at the Mazza restaurant during a stopover in Salt Lake City. The food and service was excellent. But what prompted me to write this review were the actions of the owner. On this day, this small neighborhood restaurant was packed. Our order was taken by a very friendly server. When our order arrived, the owner was at our table greeting us, a group of six. He knew that we were out of towners yet he saw that one of the dishes we ordered wasn’t cooked to his liking. He immediately asked the server to replace the lamb kebab one of us had ordered with another one. This simple act demonstrated his commitment to excellence, and for me, his restaurant earned a five star rating.
Everything was wonderfully flavored. We had a great experience and enjoyed a variety of the appetizers. The owner came out and spoke to us about what makes a good dish, too many restaurants just add extra sugar, it's about creating full flavors through proper prep work and seasoning.It's not cheap, but it's not overpriced either. The best it gets. The hummus is so good you could drink it through a straw; everything I’ve tried hands down divine. This place is truly an art and they have perfected their food. Please don’t ever close this location! I would simply die if there was no Mazza left.

This place is one of my favorites. I think I am going to start a scrap book of restaurants across the country with some identifiable traits that make the experience stellar. The food is amazing. You feel like you want to hug the staff. The wine on the menue is excellent for the price. The atmosphere is social, but "reserves the right to be romantic". Yes, Mazza is all that and then some. By the way,- a special thank you to Tina, (our server), for your expert knowledge of the menue, wine list, and -above all-making my lady friend's birthday memorabe and fun. What a beautiful evening.
Mazza is one of the best MIddle Eastern restaurants I have ever visited. I do not live in the Salt Lake City region, but have visited recently twice, and each time we made the effort to eat at Mazza. The owner is a charming man who visited with us at length. He had special Syrian bread like the bread I had eaten growing up, and he served us that with our regular pita. It was heaven, as were all of the dishes we tried. We have had several appetizers, lamb, fish, and of course baklava, and all were amazing. The servers are knowledgeable and friendly and do not rush you as you look over the variety of dishes on the menu. The most difficult thing about Mazza is selecting what you want to eat, and the servers have excellent suggestions. We took our son on our last visit and he's a fairly picky eater, but he really likes Middle Eastern food and he thought Mazza had the best Middle Eastern food he's ever had. The atmosphere is lovely with nice lighting and furnishings. You'll be totally comfortable while you enjoy delicious food served by thoughtful people. Definitely make a stop at Mazza a priority!
This is a genuine rare find. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is perfect for a small group or date night. The wait staff are friendly and attentive in the style of a community family. Many people there are clearly regular customers who interact with the wait staff like they're old friends. This place is on my very short list for Salt Lake City!
Mazda's helped us get through Covid with their fabulous take-out. We continue to visit the restaurant every week - it never gets old! We love the sampler plate which allows us to taste a few different items (but always the french fries) The quality of the food is consistently hight and staff is so welcoming and professional. Highly recommend!!
