The service and the staff are amazing and hard working. The management is top notch as far as I could tell as he seemed to keep things moving efficiently and the place was clean and turned over rapidly. Well staffed. The food was excellent! I’m from New England and the clam chowder that came with my filet mignon was outstanding! Maybe the best ever…. And I try it everywhere. The steak was perfection and the vegetable sides were top notch and perfectly cooked. Fresh, clean and perfectly tasteful food.
Always amazing! Love the fish and chips and if you can afford the king crab but I can't think of a time my meal was bad. Service is mostly exceptional but is hit or miss like pretty much anywhere. I know they hold the servers and staff to pretty high standards so it's a really great place to go for anniversarys and special occasions. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for. I've been a patrons since I was a teenager so over 20 years and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for some fancy seafood and steak in Utah.
As a first time visitor to Salt Lake City our hotel concierge recommended the Market Street Grill for dinner. The restaurant had an impressive bar and a fantastic array of seafood appetizers as well as main course choices. Beautiful oysters, delicious mussels and one of the best clam chowders we've ever had. Equally as impressive as the food was the way each appetizer, entree and dessert arrived at the table at the correct temperature in or on a dish which was also at that same temperature. As a result the soup remained hot, the salad stayed cool and crisp and the key lime pie ( which was by far the best we've ever eaten) was cool, creamy and ooh so good. Perfect dinner!!!
A Saturday night before Mothers Day was a real disappointment. Our first visit to this establishment. Ordered Kumamoto Oysters, but were served Kusshi instead. Very old tasting oysters. Salad with Blue Cheese dressing was extremely bland and limp. The stems on the zspunsch leaf salad were not removed. Grilled Halibut was extremely overcooked. Broccoli just steamed with no seasoning whatsoever. Filet Mignon was cooked perfectly, but was incredibly tough ( can’t believe it was filet!) The Bearnaise Sauce was almost all cooked egg yolk with very little butter or tarragon. Our server, John , was attentive and professional. He was the only good thing about this mediocre meal. If you are traveling to SLC or in the vicinity looking for a nice meal, dine elsewhere. This is the worst review I have ever posted on TA. I am not a complainer, nor do I look for anything in return. Only wanted to let the dining public know.
It’s a shame what has happened to this place. On a Thursday evening both the Oyster Bar and Grill were practically empty. I have been eating here on and off for 38 years. We came into the Market Street Grill side, but they sat us the Oyster Bar. The upholstery is worn out, seat cushions felt like they have not been rebuilt since they opened in 1981. Prime Rib was okay. The red potatoes were over cooked and the broccoli was sub par. Portion control and food quality is out the window. Consistency is one of the reasons Gastronomy, Inc. restaurants did so well. You should expect to have the same dining experience on every visit. Would not recommend.
Fantastic dinner at Market Street. From start to finish our dinner was amazing. It’s been a while since we’ve had a dinner quite like last night. Surprisingly enough the seafood was absolutely the freshest and flavorful we’ve ever had. Yes there is fresh seafood in SLC! Our sever Angel was just like her name an absolute Angel! Angel was on top of everything and made our dinner that much better. Can’t wait to come back to Market Street.
We loved this seafood restaurant! The clam chowder was amazing (does not have bacon)! The hot crab, spinach, and artichoke dip was so rich, oil was dripping from it. That didn't bother me bc it was so delicious. We ordered the special which was the Halibut Oscar. All of this was enough for 2 people, plus the bread service. Such great flavor! Our server was great too. If we ever come back to SLC, we'll be dining here again.
Slow service. Poor wine list (and expensive for what they offered…crazy markups on meh wines). Waitress was fine but the manager was a clod, reaching across diners to serve drinks when he should have taken three steps and presented them like a professional. He also misinformed us about the relative quality/ratings of certain vintages of a bottle of wine. Food was mediocre. I had a filet mignon and “crab stuffed shrimp” combo that was just not of the quality I had previously experienced over past visits (I’ve come here since the late 90’s). My fellow diners were not impressed either. Just an expensive (for what you got) and disappointing experience.
Delicious ? with the best brunch and potatoes.
This restaurant has been one of my favorite restaurants in the world for over 15 years
