Short review: good tacos, just a bit spendyLonger review: I got a carne asada and pastor taco and I liked them well enough. The asada was on par for most places. The pastor was good as well, but not the best I’ve had. Chunga’s pastor are better IMO.The problem I have is the cost. It was $3.75 per taco, so with tax, it’s over $8 for 2 tacos which is just too much, especially with the size. I put my key card to give an idea of the size.Would I go back? Maybe, if I was in the mood, but I would most likely pass.
I am from Arizona where there are a lot of great tacos. ... however, Maize by far has the best lobster tacos I have ever had. Eaten here twice in one week. LOVE...LOVE...LOVE!
Freshness!! It will be impossible to return to store bought corn tortillas...We ordered the Chips with Pico and Guacamole for the nonmeat eater, paired with the freshest green salsa we have ever had!! I don't even like green salsa!! But theirs is fresh tasting and not bitter like some.We had nachos, and the Chips are homemade as well. They were a little thicker because they are homemade. Which means when you scoop they do not disintegrate back into the dish when you scoop. The shrimp tacos are light and fresh, whether you just have one as an appetizer or several to make a meal of it, you will not be disappointed. The red salsa is my favorite! It has a kick to it?b but not so much you cannot taste what you are pairing it with. But even on it's own, there are flavors that I only dream of creating when I make salsa! It never comes close and I try. Whoever makes this salsa has a very gifted hand. We wanted you to know you are most excellent and we appreciate that you accommodated every request. Thank you.
Walk here to get pick up for home. Ordered a fish taco and a chicken taco. Both tacos tasted good. I also got the loaded nachos which I was expecting to be hot but these were cold. The ingredients on the nachos were lettuce pico de gallo rice chips and a meat of your choice. This would taste much better heated up.
These tacos were amazing. I ordered the Carne Asada and the Pastor. Both meats were flavored so well. The corn tortillas knocked it out of the park. I could taste that they were freshly made. I wish they were a couple of bites bigger each but so does everyone who enjoys tacos. I also ordered a side of rice. The flavor was outstanding and again the freshness was evident.I went there because I knew they could do gluten free options. This is critical for me as someone with celiac. Before ordering I asked the manager about both gluten free ingredients and cross contamination. Everything checked out with me and I didn’t get sick. I will definitely work this place into my rotation when I am downtown for work.
This is my favorite taco shop! The Al pastor is so good. They also make a delicious lobster taco. The staff are always smiling and sometimes you can even catch them singing and dancing! Definitely recommend you drop in and try it.
Not good at all. Beef was gristly and overcooked, and generally disappointing service and food. Churros were pretty rubbish too... there are many better options than this in the area.
Good tacos, fresh corn tortillas, my favorite was the shrimp tacos.
BEST tortillas I have ever had!!! They were soft and not dry at all. Every taco was delicious, I especially loved the shrimp taco. You will not be disappointed!
Loved the tacos. Had the carne asada, al pastor, and pasada (fish, mahi-mahi). I was surprised that the pasada was my favorite and the best I’ve ever had. It has a great Spivey sauce. Though the tortillas were small, they were very filled with meat. You also can’t beat fresh made corn tortillas. They even have large ones for the quesadillas. For years I’ve been trying to make my own corn tortillas but I can’t get it as good as ones made fresh from a restaurant. Staff were friendly, cooked the food fresh, and worked quickly. You can even sit at the bar and watch them work. I went with my wife and 4 children (ages 2-9). I wouldn’t say this is a children’s restaurant but they treated my children very nice and even brought them out some candy canes towards the end of our meal. The restaurant was a little cold but it’s small and when people keep coming in and opening the door, it’s going to get like that in the winter. Check this place out!
