this is my second visit and I think koyo might now be my favorite restaurant for Japanese food in the valley. I say this to distinguish it from sushi, which I rarely eat. considering that I've only done takeout, this is pretty impressive. I've had some pretty good-very bad takeout during the pandemic, and this has been the best. the tempura was almost perfect, wrapped in paper and still crispy and light, and presentation, even in takeout containers, was appealing. prices are reasonable. my only worry now is i truly hope they can stay afloat. I'll be back soon! backgound notes: I've been here 20+ years, I was raised eating Japanese food regularly, and I have been to Japan many times. also, I have moved less than 10 minutes away from koyo in the past year. Yay!
My family has been coming here for decades. The food (specifically the steak teriyaki) is so yummy and the owners are incredibly accommodating and kind. It’s our favorite restaurant and we often celebrate birthdays, graduations, etc. here. Feels like home!
Absolutely love this place. Japanese confort foods. Their dinner combos are worth it! Lots of food that tastes good! Have patience since they are short staffed. Be sure to check your order before you leave, just to make sure.

Take out during the Virus. The food is always great, and the ordering is very simple - Call. They tell you a time to pick it up and they are always accurate. As far as the food - excellent. We always order two dishes - Koyo Steak Combo and Shingu Fish Combo it is never disappointing. A Tip for winter take out. Bring a cooler and put hot water bottles in it. Take them out when the food comes and the cooler is now a Hot Box. Enjoy
I eat here a lot since I work close by. I got to say the service is always good and they keep the spot well organized all the time. Pricing is convenient and they serve big portions.

Let me start off by saying that this was an amazing first experience. Good location not far from the heart of Salt Lake City. Hours are lunch and dinner on weekdays and dinner on weekends.
