We visited this spot because we always acquire local beers as a way to remember each spot. This place had 8 different beers from their company, but they also sell beers from the neighboring breweries. They have some food available as well. To-go bottles and cans are beautifully designed. There was a lot of people when we came in, so the place seems to be popular. The bartender was very friendly, and the service was fairly quick.
Delicious Tacos! Delicious Drinks! And the pride cupcakes were delicious too! What a treat to find a new place for good food and live music! Hopkins is going on my list of faves!!
Pros: Fun atmosphere. The cod tasted fresh. Our order came out fast.Cons: The only way to order food was to stand in line at the bar. The fish was very salty and the tarter sauce was strange. I like savory tarter sauce but theirs tasted like ketchup, mayo and horseradish with some other spices thrown in. The fish and chips were expensive.
I was here wrapping the weekend with some friends over a few brews (which are decent for sure) and for some inexplicable reason the staff decided to play a 7 minute show tune at a volume that no one at my 4 top could hear what the others were saying. Not until several patrons asked them to turn it down did they marginally lower the volume and then essentially ignored the fact they were interrupting the entire restaurant for a song that continued to play at an obscene volume. I firmly asked to turn it down again and witnessed a bartender openly mock me for having the gall to request to be able to actually hear and speak with my friends.I understand enjoying yourself behind the bar with your shift-mates but on all fronts this was so laughably inconsiderate for any local neighborhood spot that I genuinely don't know if the staff understood how irritating this was. Pretty bummed cause generally the vibe is great.Cheese curds are good
Hopkins is a neighborhood gem. "Friends" had Central Perk; my friends and I have Hopkins. The beer menu rotates through all different styles which keeps things fresh, a couple staples are usually included like my favorite, Friendly Introduction Pale Ale. The staff is super friendly and the events they have like trivia, live music, and small batch Fridays are fun. The food menu is really well done as well, my favorite is the burger and the wings! One of the the best aspects of Hopkins is their outdoor patio, its so relaxing to sit out there on a warm summer night and watch the sunset in downtown Sugar House. So glad this brewery exists!
Love the inclusivity vibe there! It was really happy to have some live music to listen to in my neighborhood last night. Super stoked on the pride flag and the black lives matters sign. The chicken tacos were delicious! I love that the staff or knowledgeable on gluten-free. We ordered some old-fashions and they were delicious.
Awesome spot to hang out and grab lunch and a drink! Delicious food, great beer, and a clean/relaxing atmosphere. Terrific variety of drinks and fresh creative food. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to grab a beer and hang out someplace comfortable for the afternoon!
Fun Brewery located in sugar house neighborhood of SLC. They have the option of getting a growler or a 32 oz crowler (a can) so you can take some home with you! Food was good, we had the cheese curds (which sadly did not squeak) and a buffalo chicken wrap, but there are vegetarian options available.
I love love love the vibes at Hopkins! They provide so many board games, creating your own coasters, etc activities for everyone to enjoy whilst hanging out! They provide many weekly events and everything I’ve eaten has been delicious. However, I wish they provided more of a “dinner” menu, if they did I could see many of me and my friends going for dinner and staying after for the events/games/to hang out. Feeling like I need to eat a meal before going is my biggest hindering. Otherwise - incredible vibes! Love the liquor option - but feels small compared to the beer option. As a non beer drinker but someone that lives in the immediate sugarhouse area, I’d appreciate a greater menu and/or larger sized drinks on the liquor menu. Those that don’t enjoy beer as much should still be able to enjoy all Hopkins has to offer at the same value!
Fantastic food, great drinks, awesome environment. It’s tucked away and honestly I hadn’t heard of this brewery before last week but we took a chance and went there for brunch and was blown away. I got the breakfast tacos and LOVED them. My partner got the chicken sandwich and a bloody Mary and wow incredible. Looking forward to going back ASAP
