As we stumbled to SLC Downtown today, we found ourselves craving for Indian curry and cuisine. We ran across Guras Spicy House. It’s a Nepali and Indian restaurant in Salt Lake City. We had our filled of Mango and Strawberry lassis. The drink flavor is sweet and filled with yogurt. We got some garlic naan for our curry sauce, Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb coconut curry. We had it mild flavor because my daughter can handle the spicy food. However, we did ask for spicy sauce on the side. It enhanced the flavor of our main entrees. Overall, the food was delicious and ambiance is beautiful and peaceful.
The main dish was pretty good; however, the naan seemed like it was just heated in a microwave. Doubt they have an actual tandoori oven. I paid $2 for a cup of tap water and did not receive utensils or napkins that I requested. I’m in a hotel room, so those things are important. Maybe dining in is a better option, but SKIP getting delivery!
I got the House Soup and the Garlic Naan. I know that Indian food has a lot of spices and it is very flavorful. However I dont think this knew it was Indian food. The soup had absolutely no flavor and the Naan smelled really good, but when you took a bite there was also absolutely no seasoning or flavor to it.I also got the Mixed Snack and this definitely had a little more flavor. They did not include the chutney that comes with the dish and I think that would have made it better. Even though it was fried it was not really oily and I can appreciate that. However it was pretty stale and that was disappointing. Also the chicken that was there was extremely dry and pretty though.
Okay Salt Lakers get over here. This is a delicious and authentic Indian/Nepalese restaurant. The young oriental ladies who greet and wait on you are helpful and welcoming. I had the lamb biryani which was yummy and spicy--the way I like it. The inside is lovely and clean. I would be a regular if I lived in SLC. This is a keeper so if you SLCers want to keep it going you need to come and support this delicious restaurant.
Great tasting BBQ. We had the platter with pulled pork and ribs. Also had the coleslaw and Greek potatoes. Very good! Lots of gluten free options too!
The food is good but perhaps slightly overpriced, however the service is rough. 20 min after the rest of my table was served (there were only two of us) I finally tracked down a server to ask about my order as we had initially assumed that my food would be right along. It turns out it had been forgotten completely and while serving my buddy the server had somehow not noticed she didn't have half the order. An hour after sitting down I finally received the wrong food. Then, we had to wait half an hour after asking for the check before finally approaching the front desk due to the server not being around. The entire restaurant was packed and multiple tables were commenting on the slow service.
Guras spice house is a most to go restaurant? the foods there, are just so good! I loved eating at that restaurant while I was in Utah! This restaurant deserve a 5 star ⭐️ the customer service was really good too! If you haven’t tried their food yet, I suggest you should! They have the best Nepali/Indian dishes!
First time made a phone order, when I reach there to pick the food, she started taking order again saying she did not even taken the order, then got uncooked non-fried item from kitchen
