Fresh seafood and remarkably friendly staff make this an outstanding place to visit. I tried both the regular and spicy lobster sliders as well as the clam chowder. Both were great, although quite expensive. The owner was friendly and struck up conversation with just about everyone in the restaurant. Neat place.
The lobster roll is AMAZING! Clam chowder and lobster bisque were delicious too! For vegetarians, they have a sandwich with Italian burrata. If you are in town you cannot miss this place! Plus the owner is a fantastic woman with many interesting stories to share! One of our group is from Massachusetts and she was impressed by the quality of the lobster. Absolutely recommended!
Such a wonderful place! Just moved to SLC from Oregon so we were missing the fresh seafood. The owner was absolutely great and so welcoming. IT IS EXPENSIVE. But you truly get quality and quantity. The actual amount of lobster we got on our dishes was right on par with the price, in my opinion. And with their “shore to store within 24hrs” rule, you can’t go wrong. We ordered the lobster roll and the grilled cheese with lobster. Excellent all around. Owner even brought me a chilled glass for my beer. Highly recommend!
Holy cow. This place is a gem. Food was WONDERFUL. I had the middle sized lobster roll and corn and I was upset when I finished that I hadn't just ordered the biggest one because I would have done anything for one or two more bites. Liza, who was working the front counter, and the gentleman in back preparing our food were a two person wrecking crew. Not sure how they were keeping up with the traffic coming through the door, but they were. Kudos to both and thanks for the amazing lunch. One that won't soon be forgotten. A little out of the way, but well worth the trip. WOW.
Very impressive lobster rolls! I had been wanting to try Freshies for years but only recently had the chance. I knew their concept involves flying in fresh lobster daily, which amazed me. The prices had scared me off beforehand. The space is modern and inviting, with sea-themed decor. The menu is easy to understand but offers some fun options for those who don’t want a lobster roll. Prices are high but fair considering the work that goes into getting the ingredients. The staff are friendly and service was quick.I tried the real mainah (medium) lobster roll with a side of corn. I had been impressed with the low price ($2) of the side until I saw how small it was. It was almost a laughably small portion. It was tasty though. The lobster roll itself was delicious. The meat felt very fresh. I’d tried another one locally and was far less impressed. That meat almost felt squeaky in comparison. Though small, the roll was surprisingly filling. Another in my party tried the grilled cheese and was disappointed. He said it was bland and the cheese was too stringy, like mozzarella. Overall everyone was impressed with the food though.
I got the XL lobster roll. Kind of disappointed no gluten-free menu but they do carry gluten-free stuff you need to ask what is gluten-friendly and it is a very small selection. I just got the lobster meat came home and got my gluten-free bread to make a sandwich. Still got charged 36$ ?. It was good but for that price, your best bet is to make your own.
Lobster was fresh and I enjoyed the butter sauce. I feel the bun could have had more integrity to hold all the meat and oil. Some of the shell was still in my portion and in my partner's too. No complaints about the taste or service though.
I was highly impressed by Freshies! The lobster is uncontaminated and neat between a lightly buttered, crispy bun. The flavors are true and complimentary! After throughly enjoying my Real Mainah 3.7oz fresh lobster roll with a side of brown buttered corn I felt full and satisfied without being bogged down. The staff was kind, helpful, and welcoming. The building is clean and smells like a dream. Highly recommend for my fellow seafood lovers!
Based on previous reviews, I had high expectations for Freshies and it did not disappoint! I’ve had my fair share of east coaster lobster rolls and theirs is by far the best I’ve ever had. You’ll spend a bit more for the ‘Real Mainah’ but I highly recommend choosing it over the ‘Tourist’ because life is too short to skimp on fresh, delicious lobster
Delicious! This is our first time here; the lobster are good, food taser great! I felt the lobster with too much butter on; my daughter loves! Overall, the foods are delicious!
