This was our first time to David's Kitchen. The food was good—not great, but good. It's not necessarily authentic Chinese cuisine, but a more familiar Americanized version. The Moo Shu pork was quite tasty. The atmosphere is pleasant, service was fine, and the portions are appropriate for the prices. Two main dishes plus an appetizer set us back $40 and we were quite content. NY Chinatown quality? NO. Pretty good by Utah standards, though.
Me and my family went here for the first time today I have to say I wasn't impressed. The food was okay, most of it came out warm and not hot. The food wasn't worth the price and I felt like we were ignored. The server was great with filling the drinks but other then that she didn't come back and check in and when she did she seemed annoyed to be there. She paid more attention to the table next to us then she did to us. We definitely won't be back.
The environment isn’t that welcoming, it’s pretty dark BUT the food was pretty good. Disappointed in the kung pao chicken though; Panda’s is better to be honest.Overall the staff is friendly, direct, and fun to have conversation with. Pretty good visit!
Ordered takeout yesterday for my co-workers and I. The lady on the phone told me a 25-30 minute wait for pickup. Cool. Showed up after 30 minutes, and the older lady was quite rude and direct, saying "I told you 25 minute, you wait 25 minute!" So I patiently waited while she continued being rude to other customers. 55 minutes after I called in, the order was ready.Once I had gotten it back to work 5 minutes later, the food was completely cold. I nuked it in the microwave. The szechuan pork not only didn't look appetizing, it was kinda gross and I ended up throwing it away. Worst pot stickers I've ever had as well. Undercooked and bland. My co-workers were also not impressed with their meals. At least the ham fried rice and egg-drop soup was decent.Overall, a very bad experience, and I won't be going back.
We decided to try David’s Kitchen after so many recommendations from friends, and the food did not disappoint. The potstickers were as good as we were told, and the Sweet and Sour Chicken and Cashew Chicken were delectable, although there wasn’t very much chicken in the Cashew Chicken dish. The service wasn’t too great, and we had to sit for nearly 15 minutes with empty plates to get our check, and never got refills on our drinks.
THE best fried rice I’ve ever had. THE best service in-restaurant. Portions are huge. Food tastes great. I have never had a bad experience with this restaurant.
Amazing dumplings and all around best Chinese food. Wonderful staff and great attitudes
Best Chinese food in Utah! David's potstickers are award-winning!! Need I say more, I've been eating here since, I was 6 yrs old. (Back then they were in a different location) I refuse to eat Chinese food unless I'm going to David's! I'm about an hour round-trip from where they're located and it's worth the trip every time! Weather it's take out or dine in. You will never forget how amazing the flavor of every dish is! Do yourself a favor, and you'll thank me later ?
The food was good but it took 30 minutes to even take our order. Two tables that came in after us had their order taken and had food before us and were gone before we even got our food. I had to ask for a booster seat for my grandson. I was ignored multiple times. They never came and refilled our drinks. I had to ask for the ticket. I was extremely disappointed in their service tonight.
If you're in Salt Lake and want Chinese food and aren't eating at David's, you are missing out! My friends and family have been going here for decades and we rarely even look at the menu because it's all so good. You won't be disappointed whether you want a dish with chicken, pork, beef, shrimp or just a veggies. But no matter what you order, YOU HAVE TO GET THE POTSTICKERS. I don't know what kind of magic juju they put in those things. You'll be full by the end of your meal but still want to keep eating. Enjoy!
