Went to this restaurant for a nice Mexican dinner. We hadn't been there for years. But remembered it was good. Well this visit that was such a disappointment for so many reasons. 1) the food was tasteless. 2) you now have to pay for chips and salsa but good. 3) your drinks are $3.00 each, refills are $2.00 each, if you ask for a cup to go another $1.00 each. 4) They add a tip to your bill. Which was over 20%. Our waitress came to our table maybe 2 times. She did not deserve the full tip that was added to our bill. Needless to say we will never go back. What happened to this restaurant and their food and friendly service.

Pretty good little hidden place. I’ve never known this was here. Went before a hockey game. It was pretty good. My friend had the smothered rice & she loved it! Chips & salsa were fantastic! I had a bean & cheese burrito smothered style. It was good! Guacamole was pretty expensive, I thought. I probably wouldn’t have had it had I known the price. Cute place though. Staff was nice!

We went with a group of 8. It took a few minutes to get to us, but once they did, we had amazing service!! They were great about keeping the chips and salsa coming! Even though they didn't have something specific that they do for birthdays, they came up with an amazing treat for my son that we'll be talking about for a while! He loved it! They were so kind! The restaurant was clean and well lit. We will be going again!

I visited the restaurant with a group from work. The outside of the building doesn’t do justice to how nice an comfy this place is.The food was good and comparable to other Mexican restaurants in the area… maybe a little better.Server was great. She was amazing.I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Mexican food. I will definitely returning to try other plates.

I had a great experience at Cafe Silvestre. Looks unappealing on the outside, but has a great vibe on the inside. Cozy, very nice lighting. Our waitress was nice, we didn't wait for too long, and my meal was delicious. The smothered burrito plate with chicken and carne asada was so juicy and flavorful. One bit of feedback though. Move the "Please Wait to be Seated" sign to the actual lobby please. That was confusing, and the hostess agreed with me when I said that. Why has that not been addressed yet?Overall though, Cafe Silvestre was great!

Best tasty, yummy Mexican food I have tried yet hands down in Salt Lake City and I have tried them all.I am from Colorado originally and have been searching for that place that hits all my taste buds in Utah, and this is the place. I order a ground beef & bean burrito smothered with chili Verde and a cheese enchilada in corn tortilla. I have also tried the chimichanga, same insides. So good! Also, it doesn't leave you running for the toilet right after you eat!! Lol, plus plus, Right? ?

The food is great, I only wish we had one in Cedar City. We called ahead for a table for ten and it was no problem. We weren't real quiet cause we hadn't seen each other in a while and there was no complaints.Family owned restaurant.

Came here about 22 years ago and we thought it was disgusting and vowed to never come back. Well about 2 months ago a friend asked to meet up there so we reluctantly went and DAMN, IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!! We've been back around 10 times over the past few months and will continue to eat here... Great food and great service.

Love this Mexican/ American type style restaurant its authentic Mexican food 100% but at the same time the food is not too over powering with the spices/ heat level like most Mexican restaurants where it's too hot & not enjoyable.

I want to say Thank you. The service and the food from all the people in this establishment is some of the best I've countered. Great people with great food.
