Not the best, not the worst. I wish I could find good dim sum in the valley. Overall the service was great. No wait to get in. Fast and friendly. Food wasn't out of this world amazing, but it was priced right for the portions. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and a couple of entrees to share. The orange chicken was perfect. I didn't like the Sesame chicken as much. The dim sum was a little over steamed...if you can imagine that. I was bummed.
So glad I found this place. Food is great. Wish they offered more fried dim sum like fried eggplant with crispy garlic, fried seafood rolls, fried pot stickers. Also wish there were more choices when they came around with the dim sum. They only had a few choices. Didn’t get a dim sum menu and service was a little slow. But still glad we found this place.
My family has been eating here for 30 years. It’s the only place we go in Utah for dim sum. If you’re expecting something fancy than this is not the place to be. But if you want the best dim sum and food this is the place. I don’t mind waiting and I understand small family business especially when they had to leave their other location that they were downtown SLC. So if you get paper plates and plastic cups? Don’t judge! Their other place was much smaller than this place. They have a very small staff and probably don’t have the man power to clean the dishes like other places. I love them so much and was so sad when they closed. I will always come here and support them!
Cafe Ahn Hong is an authentic dim sum place unparelled to any other dim sum place in Salt Lake City. The service was great, and the food was so fresh you could taste the wok hei. The owner was also very friendly, even having a conversation with my family. Additionally, this family business makes their own rice noodles, which makes the chow fun a must have. NYC may have dim sum places lining the streets of Chinatown, but Cafe Ahn Hong's food certainly stands out for being homemade delicious and fresh.
SOOOO good. Best Chinese food I’ve ever had from a restaurant for sure. The egg custard buns weren’t on the menu but I’m glad I asked about them because they were egg-cellent. We also got the pork buns, pork dumplings, shrimp dumplings, and honey curry with tofu and it was all amazing. The tofu was cooked perfectly- crispy on the outside and then it just melts. Amazing sauce too. Yummmmmm
Good food. Good prices. Lo Mein for two was about $11. Fantastic service. A gentleman here bent over backwards to help me out, when my laptop battery died, while I was doing some work. I will be returning. Also, the interior of the restaurant is very nice.
Finally, Dim Sum that’s closer than downtown! and they tote their Dim Sum in carts like a classic dim sum restaurant and have additional dim sum and regular entree options on their menu. Also very attentive service! I will definitely be back!
What a gem! While you can find great authentic Chinese food on Salt Lake, it’s a little harder to come by further south in the valley. I saw the grand opening sign and decided to give this restaurant a try. I loved it so much I returned the following week! Reminds me of much of the food I’ve had in Asia. It’s an unassuming family-owned restaurant. The owner takes pride in her work and she sometimes walks around to talk to customers and ensure the food is to their liking. I’ve ordered both dim sum and family-sized entrees, as well as both their authentic Chinese food and their American-style Chinese dishes, and they are all great.

Good service. Cute little place. But we actually did not like the food at all. Not that we are super cultured in this kind of food. But I don’t recommend the leek shrimp or the steamed pork dumplings. Very greasy, doughey. Not much flavor. The ham fried rice was really good but it’s $15.
