This was a great choice as we only had one night in Salt Lake City and wanted something different. I made a reservation on Open Table at the last minute and I was so glad I did. It was a 90 minute wait for those who didn't have one. The food was good, plentiful and reasonably priced. There are steep stairs into the restaurant for those who have issues with mobility. They have a lovely outdoor space but it wasn't open that night. I would highly recommend the Blue Iguana.
Before I put a review I'm gonna say the I make this reservation last month and when I spoke to a girl name Sabi or something like that I say to her that is first time that I'm visiting this place because I come from NYC and I specifically tell the girl the because I went online and look for this place i went because seen very nice and also have good reviews so I went because was my wife birthday and I say to her if you guys sing a birthday she say yes and also she say the they give us a small cup cake and I say ok that's good because we don't eat too much cake. So we when with a couple of friends too very nice place food good and servers very nice including the guy the give it boiling chicken for my little doggy the I bring everything was fine but they forgot the birthday sing and cake we stay late and I nobody came at all and the purpose for this occasion and for me to go first time there is because was my wife birthday and they not even do anything was I was tell the girl to do since the beginning of this reservation and make me sad because I came from different state and first time to this place and they couldn't do nothing a month in advance when I tell the person who I spoke..???
Perfect place to celebrate my sons high school graduation! Food was fantastic, especially the gringas fajitas with the grilled pineapple. Musical artist was amazing and really added to the fun atmosphere. For party of 10 the check was surprisingly low, and I love use they allow reservations.
Date Night at Blue IguanaLocated in the heart of Downtown Salt Lake City with validated parking! We went Monday Night and they were BUSY but you'd never guess from the speed at which the food and drinks were being served!What We had-•Iquanarita•Pina Colada•Jalepeno Rancheros•Mole Sampler•Enchilada Suizas•Chile Colorado•Fried Ice CreamThe Drinks were DELICIOUS!! One of the best Pina Coladas I've ever had.The Jalepeno Rancheros were ooozing with cheesy goodness.The Mole Sampler was great option to help is choose our meals.The Enchiladas Suizas were a hearty serving covered in Mole Poblano, which was soooo yummy!Justin really enjoyed his Chile Colorado. I had the perfect about of heat so it wasn't overpowering.Great Spot with Awesome Drinks, Good Food and Quick Service!
The food is always good and inexpensive. There was a wonderful guitarist/singer playing the night we were there - he was fun and added to our positive experience. We sat right across from him and enjoyed every minute!

While they were very understanding about us being late to our reservation (they did move the time for us which was awesome), however, we were going to dinner before a concert at Capitol Theatre and all we needed was drinks and appetizers, our waitress was not friendly at all, the food was decent, and we ended up being a little bit late to the concert because of that. Hopefully they’d deliver a better experience when not as crazy busy, but a restaurant should be prepared for rushes and still have their staff give good customer service.
Best Mexican food I’ve had in some time. Fun atmosphere.
The Seafood Fajitas were excellent - served hot but not overcooked with p;enty of vegetables and seafood as advertised. Service was good. The overworked waiter had many tables and seemed to juggle his responsibilities well. The dwcorations and bright colors created a very festive atmosphere. Price was reasonable, considering the center city location. Will definitely go back.
This was a fun place that was large enough to accommodate our work group. Good food and great service
