Food was not good, service was extremely slow and not energetic at all.

As a long time patron of Benihana, the SLC location is not up to standard of Benihana elsewhere, itâs old and the restaurant is hard to find, some major update and clean up needed if staying in the same location but I would love to see it move out of downtown area and relocate to the suburbs.
It took a while for the cook to come to our table but overall, great food.

I really wish we could get out own table, and that is something I keep on forgetting when I go there. The space between each person is cramped and tight. Our cook was good but not as good as other I've had in the past. He spoke very quietly and non of us around him could hear him. It didn't help that the music was too loud. We asked the server to do something about it, but he didn't care. Finally I spoke with the person in the front and the music was lowered a bit. The food was outstanding! I just need to remember to bring more people next time so that it can only be acquaintances around you.
We luckily got in for a late lunch, but seating and ordering took a while even with a reservation. Food was super expensive. I ordered the spicy chicken, basically got 1 small chicken breast a cup of rice and some veggies for 16$. Everything needed more flavor. Chicken was super dry and over cooked. Service was great, but the space is tiny. Horrible ventilation so every time something was cooked it was super smoky, you almost couldnât breathe very well. Everything took a long time, reservation was for 2:45 and we didnât leave the restaurant until 4:15-4:30. It was an interesting experience but there are other chains that do the same thing for the same price that I would rather go to
They did a great job loved my server and chief. Also the food as always is great quality!
