I’m giving this place 5 stars despite the fact that i believe their fish tacos are lacking. the batter isn’t very crispy, if you’d rather have those, i’d bet you could find better texture wise at del taco. that being said, the carne asada here, is what makes it popular. it is absolutely incredible, and the flavor is unmatched. i also really enjoyed the birria. this place is a must try, especially if you moved to Utah wondering why all of the mexican food here sucks

I loved the food here, the portions were much more generous than I normally expect and full of flavor. I had 2 each of the fish and asada tacos. The fish was battered and fried perfectly and retained its moisture on the inside, while the steak was tender and juicy. I only wish that the batter on the fish was crispier, but I attribute that to the batter getting soggy from the moisture since I did takeout and had it sitting in the takeout box longer than I should've. Nevertheless, the guacamole was generous and all the flavors blended well together. The sauces that they provide on the side also complimented my tacos quite well.I will definitely be coming back again for the "dine in" experience.

Wow!!Short review: Amazing. Some of the best ever. Try it out.More helpful review:I was craving tacos. I know, I know, this is something I crave pretty much every day. But, I've been meaning to check this place out and I'm so happy I did. Upon walking in, it didn't come across to me as a place that had the best tacos ever... There were a few kids running around, children of the owners, and it almost felt like I was at somebody's home.I needed a few minutes to figure out what I wanted to order, and I asked the employee a few questions, before I made up my mind.I ended up ordering the QUESO TACO DE BIRRIA, with an Horchata. (I'm always trying to find a place that has great horchata. And I typically struggle.)After giving me my order, which only took a few minutes, they reminded me that I have some salsa options available at the salsa bar, and to be sure to check them out. ... There were three salsa options, a green one, and two red ones. The green salsa was great, one of the red salsas was way too spicy, the other red salsa was pretty good. The horchata though, when I first tried it, was pretty difficult. All the cinnamon was at the bottom, and I had to cough a few times. After I stirred up my horchata mix, by shaking my glass, it was remarkable. Seriously some of the best I've ever had.The food was remarkable. After I finished it, I was full. But even though I was full, I was craving to have more. This place has to be one of my new favorites. And I urge everyone to check it out

I love dining here. I'm from Sonora Mexico, and this is a close as it gets. He Imports the tortillas, and the bread for the Sonoran style hot dog. Super friendly, meat is always cooked fresh.

Amazing tacos, great Mexican food! Seriously, one of the best in Northern Utah. I'm incredibly happy to see that Rio Sonora opened up a sit-in restaurant. We used to visit their food truck in Provo.Their carne asada is juicy and served in a fresh flour tortilla, topped with shredded cabbage, pico de gallos and delicious guacsauce. If you like birria, you've got to try their birria and cheese tacos, grilled to perfection. Seriously, a must have!!! Highly recommended and a place I'll bring family and friends to. Buen provecho/ Bon apetit/ Cheers

We ordered the carne asada fries and carne asada quesadilla. They were delicious! The sauces were just the right level of picante. It tastes and smells like the roadside taco stands in Sonora, MX and we will be back!!

Came in with my fiance wanting to try their Mexican hotdogs & while we where there we had to try their famous carne asada tacos! Let me just say hotdogs yummy, ? but to be able to have a taco on the side even better. The meat was so flavorful and having a flour tortilla made it even better. We loved it, great friendly costumer service. It was a fun experience, it almost felt like being home or getting to your favorite aunt's house for a bite. Loved it. Me encantó todo muy rico.

I have been several times to Rio Sonora. Their carne asada fries, carne asada tacos, and Sonoran (bacon wrapped) hot dogs are phenomenal. Their carne asada is made from quality meat and the marinade and cook on it is perfectly executed. They typically have 3 salsas at their salsa bar, but I am aware of at least 4 types. These are some of the best tacos in Utah.

Best tacos around! About as close to Sonora as it gets for Utah.

Great tacos - carne asada and fish were bomb. The horchata was super fresh, made to order. I loved the salsa too!
