We tried a 3 meat plate with chicken, pork & steak. Also, we tried nachos with chicken. We ordered everything to go. We were slightly disappointed with the quality of food. It was all just ok but the quality for the price wasn’t there. Possibly since we took our order to go, if we dined in, it might have been better. Maybe there are different sauces available & maybe it would taste fresher. We want to give them another chance when we can dine in. We ordered salad but it was only lettuce without any dressing or anything else…just lettuce. The katsu chicken was quite dry but possibly if we dined in, it would be more fresh.
Excellent food, employees are super friendly and helpful Will definitely come back!
Had a great experience at my first visit at Kokonut Island Grill tonight and got to sample some great food off the menu. The location is easy to get to, well lit, good music, well staffed so you don’t wait in line long. They had some unique and personal touches to the food that really sets them apart from other island/Hawaiian food in the valley: they season the Terry beef with sesame seeds and mac salad with scallions after being plated, and add an orchid to your plate which almost takes me back to Hawaii :) Positive vibes all around! I had the katsu chicken and teriyaki beef plate and loved it! Best Terry beef I’ve had in the mainland for sure!! Sampled my friend’s pulled pork nachos and they were really yummy, great homemade chips and I plan to get that next time with some Terry beef.
I saw some reviews about portion issues, definitely not an issue anymore! Highly recommend and can’t wait to try the next item off their menu.
Pretty disappointing. The portion size is small, especially for the price. Tasted decent I guess, but I just can’t wrap my head around how much I payed for how little I got. It’s not a traditional plate lunch place which I guess is neat, as they’ve got a bunch of other unique options. I didn’t try those so can’t comment on it, but the plate lunch left a lot to be desired.
Got pork nachos and katsu kids meal. The nachos were so unique and had incredible flavors! Katsu is a classic, and was delicious as well. Will be returning soon!
This place is priced very very high for what you receive. The food and service was just okay. With L&L BBQ literally one minute away from them I really don’t think they will last long. L&L blows this place out of the water as far as price point, portion size and taste. The photos show the portion size difference and I even took the picture from L&L after I had started eating some of my food. The steak from Kokonut grill was so so dry and chewy like jerky. Honestly, waste of money and this place is NOT cheap with all the markups they do just for adding a meat choice that isn’t pork. At L&L you get way better food, way more of it and for a better price!! I had to write a review because I was honestly shocked/upset at how bad this place is in comparison. First photo Kokonut. Second photo L&L.
The food was really good and the prices fit the portions, except for the $5 meat upgrade. I upgraded to shrimp on a two meat plate and I got three whole shrimp ?. They were tasty, but that is a joke for portions. The shrimp isn't scampi like North Shore's famous trucks, but it was still really good.
Great ambiance and food. If you want island themed food then this is a great place in Utah valley. We both got the Katsu chicken sandwich and were very happy with it. The bun has their logo branded on it. The chicken was perfectly cooked and had crispy breading.
Wonderful restaurant. Amazingly friendly and helpful staff with a delightful ambience. The food is tasty and plentiful, you certainly will not leave hungry.
The food here is great!! I would give it 5 stars without a problem. The only problem is they keep changing their hours that they are open and not updating them online. I’ve been twice when they should be open and they end up being closed. Super frustrating!
