Nice place, nice atmosphere. Had the sushi, and the rice was a bit hard. Not crunchy, just... hard. Not sure how else to explain it. That said, every place has off days, and this was my first time there, so, dont judge based solely on my experience please. The wait staff were excellent.
Did not enjoy my lunch. The fish on the sushi rolls tasted old. The soy sauce also tasted generic. Over priced for the specialty roll with how the fish tasted. I used to really enjoy this place. I couldn’t finish it. No lunch specials.
Worst sushi I’ve ever had. I took one bite and wanted to just go to a Smith’s Deli because that would literally have been better. Crab was mushy and had zero sweetness to balance, also lacked in acid for bite. I asked for a “crunchy California roll” and received a California covered in breadcrumbs. My partner almost vomited. Never eat here
Favorite sushi! I love any of their fried rolls or their coconut mango roll. Everything that they put into a roll blends perfectly together. Very nice restaurant with kind staff.
Every birthday I come to Happy Sumo for their Samari Steak... 2 hrs. After eating here I started getting sick ? Severe Vomiting and Diarrhea. Ended up inthe HOSPITAL! Beware of this place, gone way down hill. And who knows how old the food is? What you can't see can hurt you. Cost me the Bill, The Hospital and 2 days off of work!
I love this place. They always make me feel so at home here. I like the little curtains on the sides of the booths as I am self conscious of my eating and love the extra privacy. The sushi is delicious and my esophagus has no issues swallowing that fishy goodness down. I suggest the water as I think they hand brew it in the back so it’s extra hydrating and my kidneys always feel amazing every time I walk out of the restaurant doors. Overall really amazing service. I highly recommend and it’s just super fantabulous.
Foods reliable generally pretty good. I come here cause it's close to where i live. I don't understand why it takes an hour for a pick up order on a Sunday, their slowest day for two rolls and an app? Always waiting.. should be the stats but i don't want them spitting in my food. ?
One of my favorite sushi places. I don’t live in the area but visit a lot and ALWAYS go to happy sumo. They have a big variety of rolls, which is what I usually get, but also other great entrees and appetizers. Service has always been good as well.
We LOVE Happy Sumo! This is our go-to sushi spot for any occasion. The restaurant is cozy, staff is friendly and knowledgable AND the food is always delicious. I highly recommend the calamari and rock shrimp roll, they have the best tempura batter (light and crispy).
One of my favorite sushi restaurants. I’ve spent significant time in or lived in Washington DC, Austin Texas, Salt Lake City and Provo Utah, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and Los Angeles. Happy Sumo has been consistently number one or two of all the places I’ve tried over the last 10 years. Their sushi is always fresh and they have unique delicious combinations of flavors. Service has always been outstanding and the restaurant is pristine. I’m kind of a germaphobe so really love finding restaurants that focus on cleanliness.
