Order breakfast at 10:56am plus 10 guys order breakfast before me. Order Benny breakfast- for here- and Crepes-to go. The crepe was made before the breakfast after 60 customer was served. 28 minutes later one of the worker notice my breakfast was not made yet. Finally, 35 minutes later I got my breakfast.Eggs was not over easy, it was more like triple dead
I am giving four stars because I love what this place does for the community. They have beautiful art comprising the interior with a cozy but spacious seating area (as one review said, the stress leaves your body when you walk in), and I always look at their bulletin board of local flyers to see what's happening or needed in my neighborhood. This kind of thing is what keeps Provo a community and not part of the suburban sprawl. I'm a huge fan of this establishment. They cook with fresh ingredients and not a lot or any salt. I love this, look at that gorgeous colorful House salad!! But I personally have found their food to be a little dry. I'd recommend less viscous salad dressings, possibly goat cheese instead of feta, and more of the juicy ingredients on the sandwiches to remedy this. People say great things about breakfast, which I have yet to try, but I'm hopeful!
The good: the staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean and had a fun environment. We also didn't have to wait long for the food. The bad: The food. The carne asada tacos were $15 and were not great. They came about as basic as it gets, no rice no beans and no cheese. The carne did not feel or taste fresh at all. It seemed like it was old, microwaved meat. For 15 bucks I expected a lot more.
The decor was cool but the food mediocre. We were first in cafe for breakfast. Gravy on my breakfast meal wasn't very good.
Hands-down the best Ruben I have ever had! If you come here I would really recommend getting one of their hot sandwiches because of how good the bread that they use is. They have great dipping sauces and ranch and blue cheese for your dinner salad as well. We got our food from the dinner portion of the restaurant but then ended up getting a cinnamon roll for dessert from the café. I really love this place!
I love the sweet potato fries and fry sauce!! All of their food is good quality but the fries draw us back every time! Chicken tacos and fish tacos are also excellent!
When Guru’s hits, IT TRULY SLAPS. But that’s the problem. It’s so unpredictable that I have no idea if I’m going to love a dish or hate it. Every quesadilla I have had is fire. Every breakfast item I’ve had is not. The Rueben sandwich, delish. Just be wary of what you order and try not to go too far out of your box here and you should enjoy it. The quality of ingredients is actually wonderful and I never feel gross when I’m leaving. That’s why it gets 4 stars from me.
We have been coming to Guru's for many years. It's definitely a nostalgic place for us. We love the menu and the ambiance it provides, and the prices are decent. Their sweet potato fries are yummy and what introduced us to such a fantastic dish ? my favorite thing to get here is the Pesto Chicken (or is it turkey?) Sandwich. So, so good! I also got the roasted tortilla soup and....don't bother. It wasn't very good at all, hence the 4 stars. My husband got a wrap that he liked and the grilled cheese the kids got were really great! Definitely give it a shot, and I'm sure you'll come back for more.
My Southwest wrap was really good. The ingredients you could taste the freshness. The help was really friendly and checked on us regularly. The only down fall was it smelt like sewer gas in the dining area but not bad enough that it drove us away. This is the only time I have been there so it might have been an isolated incident...?♂️
Chill atmosphere (very stylized), food was ok, sweet potatoes fries were nice (thin and crunchy). Apparently they have great fry sauce so don't forget to ask, (I'm so sad, I didn't know)! Got the turkey pesto was good, turkey was a little dry (needed a sauce to go with), wishing I got their French dip, next time?
