This place was quite the treat for my film to visit. The food quality is to die for and the service is excellent. It is a bit on the pricey side so not something I would bring a lot of people to unless your feeling rich. I recommend reserving ahead as seating isn't guaranteed unless you call ahead. Overall awesome service and awesome food ?
I left this restaurant with an experience above and beyond my expectations. It was absolutely fantastic. Not only was the food delicious, but I could not believe the kindness of the staff. I left feeling delightfully satisfied from hunger and I wanted to pay forward the kindness that we received from the staff. I would certainly recommend Communal to anyone who is curious, and I know I'll be back.
What a mouthwatering treat for your taste buds! Communal restaurant is a flavorful experience. Please note the menu is seasonal and changes. My wife and I ordered one starter, protein, starch and vegetable dish and split them. It was plenty of food. We got the bao buns which was my favorite thing. Flank steak, fingerling potatoes and asparagus. Everything was fancy tasty. The service was great and it was a wonderful experience.
Heard so many good things about this place from foodie friends and it did not disappoint! This is a true farm-to-table dining experience!Loved the ambiance: small, exclusive, quaint, and just lovely. We were warmly greeted by the host, and seated at the best table there was (we did have reservations on a Saturday night). Our server was personable and just really down to earth, heard his recommendations and they were spot on.Ordered the meat and cheese platter for starters. The steak was probably one of the best steaks we've had in a while. The trout dish was lovely - slight crisp on the skin side and soft and flaky on the top. Normally I do not like to consume fish skin, but it was slightly crispy and had so much flavor that I did not mind it and cleaned the plate! The chorizo cornbread dish was to die for and was a fantastic choice.Overall, it was a wonderful first-time experience! Can't wait to go back.
The food was remarkably delicious! They just opened recently to offering brunch Mon -Fri and not just Saturday. Such a great menu for breakfast! We had a Hash Root bowl, biscuits and Sage gravy , and a coconut milk, chia pudding with pineapple and cooked coconut flakes. I split mine with my significant other and it was perfect. Even another person could have filled up their belly on the generous amounts. This place though is definitely the taste you get with quality over quantity.!If you want a classy, sophisticated place to dine, with delicious savoring food, come to The Commune!!! So glad I did!
All three of us ordered the hangar steak dinner. They were cooked perfectly. The squash side dish was spectacular! All around a great meal and service. Kudos!
This is a great date night location! We enjoyed the beet salad, pork loin, baked sweet potato, and roasted carrots and everything was delicious! We would definitely come back!
AMAZING! My husband and I came for a date night, and were so impressed. From start to finish, the service was stellar. Food was next level. We were lucky enough to sit next to the chefs, and watch the whole process. The staff took the time to talk with us, and answer all our questions. There was not a single thing we ate that we did not love. I can’t say enough good things about our experience and the food. We are definitely going to be back soon.
This was our first time going to Communal. It was our anniversary and wanted to go somewhere we hadn’t been before. It certainly did not disappoint! We had an early reservation, so it wasn’t very busy. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We ordered the pork belly, trout, fingerling potatoes and green beans. The pork belly was fatty and flavorful-everything one would want in pork belly. The trout had crispy skin and moist and tender inside. The potatoes were garlicky and yummy. The green beans were still crispy and had a citrus flavor that we found refreshing. With drinks and a tip the meal was a little over $100. This is not someplace we would frequent often, but we will definitely come back for special occasions.
Decided to go for an early Valentines dinner in Utah County as we have had some success with places such as Black Sheep. We choose Communal right in the middle of downtown based on previous reviews. For so many reasons, this might be our new go to for “special date night.”1)The food was perfect and unique. The complimentary bread needs special mention, they say it’s not quite sourdough but whatever it is, it was amazing. We choose the persimmons (which I though was weird but my wife said was amazing), funeral potatoes and the sweet potato as sides. If you like cheese and hash browns, the funeral potatoes are heaven, holy frijoles. Our server recommend the pork loins. Not only were the huge but cooked to perfection. They were served on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes which was probably the only big miss, they lacked any real flavor which I guess was meant to be.2)The service was juuuuuust right. Good service, now more than ever, is hard to find. Our server (I forgot her name, sorry!!) always had our drinks filled and allowed us to have a good conversation. The small design of the place allowed for us to interact with the two cooks and pretty much every other staff. We even had a conversation about our favorite breakfast places. So cool.3)The cost was what you would expect of a “nicer place.” Our meal and a soda cost 95 bucks including tip. Not something I would do often, but will still do on special occasions.4)The setting is the real star of the show. On their website they talk about the small settings and a “communal” type place. It really does live up to the hype. At first it was a little weird to set so close to someone but we found a perfect balance with those around us. One group we just did not talk to at all and that was fine. The others around us were super nice and we shared recommendations about types of food and even places to eat. There was an older nice couple from Oregon who were the best and we learned about their family. Super weird, I know, but it just seemed right and cool.If you made to the end, you may have decided that this is not for you, but I personally would recommend everyone to try it even once. Even though Utah County traffic is always horrible. — eating dinner at Communal Restaurant.
