Do not go to the drive through. Every time I go through the drive through my order is wrong or they do not include items. I went today, and I asked for no lettuce and no tomato on my tacos. Just meat and cheese. I get my food and I trusted the drive through guy because he read off my order, looked into the bag while reading off, and said everything was accurate. I hate holding up the drive through line so I drove home without checking (only a couple min drive away) to find my tacos soggy in tomato juice, loaded with tomatoes, lettuce, and cilantro and COLD. It was like they handed me a different order that was made a long time ago for it to be that cold and that soggy with ingredients on my tacos I did not ask for. Primarily because they get soggy with the tomato juices and cilantro tastes like soap to me. And like I said at the beginning, this is not the first time the drive through has gotten orders wrong. It is either wrong or they forget the side of guac or salad dressing. And to top it all off, the past couple times I got a lemonade from the drive through, it has tasted like soap.
You can go to Cafe Rio for the same price as Del Taco so why would you ever choose Del Taco? It is a good place, good food, and nice environment. Is it a little pricey? Yes, considering other sit down places are almost the same price these days. People like the cafe type places that might be faster than a sit down place, but sometimes the line has been so long that I could have sat down ate somewhere else and been on my way by the time it would have taken me to wait in line here and get the food. But during slow hours this is a great option. The sweet pork is really good.
I would honestly give this location 3 stars based on my last experience, but you don’t seem to get attention unless it’s 1 star. Usually this place gets 5 stars, but only after I paid for 4 drinks did I find out they were out of all of their sodas. They had a sign on the drink machine, but nothing at the register. Then when we were filling up with horchata, it ran out as well. I asked if they had more and they said they ran out. Then I asked for a drink holder and they had run out of those as well. No apologies, just a “no, we don’t have any.” I had come to the actual store to get food bc I tried to order online, but it wouldn’t recognize any of the four cards I tried. This was on a Saturday, May 7, 2022. I get that it’s the weekend and sometimes you run out of things. But maybe warn people before they order and pay for something you don’t actually have. I would’ve asked for a refund, but I’ve got a family waiting at home for dinner and the staff were clearly tired, exhausted and did not want to deal with any more than they had to. Hopefully next time they’ll be better.
This location frequently seems to struggle. I do NOT recommend using online order as those seem to be an after thought to the inside orders. Also be prepared to deal with employees who act put out that you're interrupting their conversation with their coworkers, appear overwhelmed/undertrained with even minor problems, and/or are outright rude and unhelpful. Tonight I arrived a few minutes earlier than my "promise time" for my online order but thought I would go in just to see if it happen to be done early. It took several minutes to be acknowledged by an employee, despite one actually making eye contact with me then ignoring me. I was told the order was "being made right now." Great. I'm early - no problem waiting, especially when they're working on the order. Ten minutes later it became apparent they had not even started on the order. Finally got my food fifteen minutes past the promise time. I watched the employee put it the bag, look at the receipt, chat with a coworker for a few seconds, then literally DROP the order on the counter and walk away without acknowledging me or saying anything. There are more than enough Cafe Rio locations in this area to avoid this type of treatment - this was my last time here. Two stars because the food was pretty good, but is not worth the service. Drive to the south Provo or Orem location instead.
Went here last night on a Friday at 7PM. It was busy as expected especially here around the BYU Campus and the line moved at a fairly fast speed. The service was great and the workers are very enthusiastic and quite energetic but also UBER efficient. I got the nachos and I have to say these are THE BEST I have ever had in my life. It was utterly delicious and it felt super fresh. I had mine with steak and shredded cheese plus pico de gallo and some extra rice and black beans. Also their in house mint limeade is amazing and I highly recommend getting that. Overall I definitely recommend this place to everyone.
not going to this location from now on. i ordered a pork salad for myself and my fiancé, she asked for no beans and was given beans, we both asked for shredded lettuce and were given normal lettuce. i asked for no cilantro and was given a pile of it on my salad. we also asked for no pico and were given pico, she also paid for extra rice and was not given extra rice. it's been like this for about a year now, i'll be going to a different location from now on. - Jack Grunander
Cashier was super rude. Not only that but when ordering nino quesadillas for our kids they upcharged us without telling us before hand. Since when did they charge for the ninos?? Then the lady expected a tip??? Ridiculous. This location sucks compared to the other cafe rios we have been to in orem, heber and pc. Go somewhere else. Workers are power hungry here and charge extra for everything.
Seriously upset with my experience last night. My family and I eat at this location once a month, but not sure we will now. Last night I placed a curbside order. I went in pick it up and they forgot our drinks. I waited over 10 minutes at the counter to ask for our cups. Many people walked by and did not ask what I was waiting for. Finally someone came over and asked in English what I needed and when I said I needed 4 drinks please, they were forgotten, she said por que and again I repeated myself and used hand signs. Then she walked away and spoke clear English to another employee and walked away. I finally got a manager to come over and she did not care. Really sad they don’t care about their customers.
Pretty upset with my most recent order. Usually its satisfactory. But this visit was really disappointing. I never got my receipt even though I asked for it. Then when I started to eat I noticed I got black beans, which I hadn't asked for. Not only did I get the wrong beans but my burrito was 3/4ths full of just black beans? Should've gone to Costa Vida...
A month ago I was going through a drive thru and the lady at the window, right before I pay says "so what do you want to tip us?" Wow. That was so awkward and so unnecessary.I made the mistake of going back tonight. I was given a $25 gift card from my aunt and my total was $31. I got a charge 28$ on my bank account. They never gave me a receipt or my gift card back. They gave me a free voucher of one meal once I drove down to plead my case, despite having my order consist of two meals. So I'm out 10-15$. The manager was nice and apologetic, but I'm still frustrated I'm out that 10-15$.I'm very dissatisfied from my last two experiences there. Probably won't be going back to that location.Tip: ASK FOR RECIEPTS
