Terrible you can't call this hawiian food it is spitting in the face of true good hawian cuisine the meat was a weird consistency, and the teriyaki tastes terrible I refuse to go back absolutely disgusting.
We have loved Aloha Plates; however, recently they have been giving small pieces of meat and calling it double meat. Look at the picture and tell me how that is double meat? They gave us two chicken tenders and call it double katsu. When I asked the cashier if I got double meant, her response after looking at my plate was, "Yes, it is? Yes, it is." She wasn't even sure it was double meat. Stop this shady practice and give us what we paid for.
Deciding what to eat is hard sometimes. Its sad that in 1st world countries we sometimes spend more time thinking about what to eat then actually eating the food itself. However, deciding to eat at Aloha Plate was a quick decision based on its food to cost ratio and highly rated comments from my friends. I ordered a Mixed plate of Pork and chicken. Pork with extra teriyaki sauce was amazing, chicken was a tad dry but still savory. I'm still a kid at heart so the macaroni salad was hands down my favorite thing in this plate. Overall, 4/5! Will go back for sure! :)
Since my first plate in 2016 before my mission to the plate I had today, aloha plate never disappoints. The chicken is always juicy and tender, the rice soft and perfectly cooked, and the Mac salad crisp and cold. Amidst the changing world we live in, at least we can count on aloha plate.
Way better than Mo Bettas. The chicken is perfect every time. The teriyaki sauce is always killer.
They give unlimited terriaki sauce for your meal, but charge $$$$ for just a little shoyu sauce. What’s in it? Gold?? I would eat here more often if their meat portions weren’t so small and they let the sauce flow freely. Tastes good, but isn’t worth the money.
Great food at a reasonable price
Great meal on campus. Get the katsu chicken lunch plate!
You know how there’s a reason you only find Sbarro’s in malls? Something tells you the low quality food chain only survives due to the cheap locations full of low-expectation children and their parents desperate to get anything to feed them. There’s a reason you don’t see Aloha Plate anywhere but BYU campus. Mo’ Bettahs and Sweets blow this place out of the water; this is the place you go when you’re sick of Chick-Fil-A and Taco Bell but you don’t have the time to leave campus. This is the ugly person you settle for when you’ve been Dear John’d. Aloha has two meanings, but for this restaurant, it’s best if it just meant ‘goodbye’. Nice employees though.
Im from Hawai’i and I got the musubi- of course I wasn’t expecting something I’d get there, but I’d like to help it become more! I recommend using regular rice instead of sushi rice and frying the spam with a soy sauce/sugar mixture. It was wrapped really well though!
