The fish was super fresh, roll options not super extensive, ambience super lacking.
Short ribs are the most tender! Fantastic flavor and texture. Friendly staff. Upscale casual next to outdoor patio - more of a hotel lobby feel than a sushi restaurant. Multiple options for hot tea.
Fantastic service! I had to change and update our reservations a few times and they were so accommodating. The sushi was delicious and we hope to go again soon.
Noisy , lobby setting. Not a good spot for expensive high end sushi as it claims !
Great place with fire pits outside!
Have been here multiple times and always enjoyed it. Food was fine. Nachos were quite good, as usual. Rolls I would say were pretty much standard fare. Have had similar quality at many sushi places in town. Honestly, I expect alot more for the prices and the fact you are at the Montage. But the real disappointment was the music. It takes a lot for me to suggest that music ruined the experience. But as we came up the front steps and were about 20 yards away from the hostess stand, we all noticed that the volume level of the music was off the charts. It was one guy at a piano with a microphone. No band, not a large crew of performers. One guy. The wailing was awful. Not another way to put it. We asked to be seated as far away from him as possible…no can do (everyone before us had the same idea). Wouldn’t have mattered anyways…he was overbearing for everyone. I could hear him when I went to the restroom that is a good distance from where we sat. As my headache formed, I asked our waitress if that volume was normal and if it would be a problem to have it turned down a bit. During our meal, I witnessed at least 3 other parties ask the same thing of either the wait staff or hostess. The volume never changed. I swear, we could not hear the waitress talk to us and we could hardly carry on a conversation with each other at our table. If I was the only one with an issue, I could understand. But it was alot of people asking…and nobody doing anything about it. I’m a little shocked that whoever manages the restaurant wouldn’t be more responsive to the patrons. Food gets a 7-8. Everything else gets a 2.

Really not a very inspiring place. Feels like you are eating in a hotel lobby. Food service was quite slow, hot items were warm vs hot. Service was good.
Seafood quality was ok but the sushi rice was disappointing: cold, chewy, and clumpy. Menu and dinner was, at best, underwhelming. We expected manyfolds better from a Montage establishment.
The food was fantastic!! Sushi nachos and peanut butter miso cups were our fave. Montage roll was great. Saki was solid. Very good service, but food takes time. As for atmosphere, one wall is a simple partition from the lounge. I thought the atmosphere was fun because we had the buzz and live music from the lounge. Definitely not a typical restaurant setting, though.
