Great breakfast place!! Food was delicious. We had a scramble, hash and French toast. Prices were also great. Service was amazing! And the space is very cool. Looks like a shared space where B&D has it for breakfast and a sushi place has it for dinner? Maybe O’Shucks uses the downstairs?
Great breakfast and service, check them out. Menu is varied so everyone can find something for their pallet that they can enjoy. Also, very good coffee!
Perfect breakfast place! Bright, cheerful atmosphere. Great french toast. They have a variety of options, so whether you prefer American breakfast food, avocado toast, or even asparagus, there will be something for you.
My husband and I drove from Ogden to have breakfast because I had been here before with my girlfriends and loved it. It was just as delicious as it was before. The service and food were great!
We were there for Saturday brunch. We were greeted by a friendly young man who seated us and brought us tiny glasses of water and some coffee. Our server took about 5 min to get to us-it was clear she was the only server working. We ordered food and I ordered a mimosa as well. I didn’t get that until after our food arrived. We watched as the teenaged host and another young man seated several other parties and bussed a few tables. Their main focus, however, was selecting music from the sound system. They wandered around, back and forth to the kitchen, but largely just idling. Not in a lazy way, more a clueless way. I mention this bc in the 30 min that it took to get our food, our tiny water glasses sat empty as well as the coffee cups, while the lone server did her best to serve the 10 occupied tables. I’m not sure if there was a manager in charge; other than the server, I never saw another person older than 20 and the boys, while nice and earnest, clearly had no clue how to run the front of the house. When our food finally arrived, it was room temperature. My scrambled eggs were a flat piece of rubber. The waffle looked like someone forgot to use non-stick spray on the waffle iron, so it was-for lack of a better word-shredded. I was shocked a chef/expediter had allowed food that looked like that, and had obviously sat in the window for at least 15 min, to come out of the kitchen. Was there no one to run food? Did anyone even know how to run food or that you don’t leave food dying in the window, no matter what your job title might be? Was there no one to tell the boys to refill the tiny water glasses and coffee? Who was in charge? Was it the two teenagers? If so, it was a terrible executive decision.
I don’t know if it’s because this restaurant is trying to be 3 concepts in one location (brunch, oyster bar, sushi bar) but I’ve rarely seen such a poorly organized and executed meal service. We came for brunch and the two teen boys “running” front of house seemed friendly but hopelessly clueless about what they should be doing. Instead of helping the single server working by running dishes and bussing tables they mostly wandered around and looked confused. They were on top of one thing - obsessing over which song to play next on the sound system. Our food took nearly 40 minutes to come out - and had clearly been sitting under heat lamps for 25 of those minutes. It was mostly edible but not at all in line with the price point. This place needs a) a more singularly focused concept and b) some grown ups on scene who know how to run a restaurant.
I almost gave this restaurant a lower rating because the food and service have been...uneven...in recent months. I hope that our most recent visit is a sign that they've gotten past whatever staffing issues they were dealing with, because our meals and the service were both great!I had the avocado toast, which I would highly recommend, and Mr Man had "The Basic" with the sausage patty. I like a hearty breakfast, and we were both hungry, but neither of us could finish our breakfasts, not because the food was bad -- it was delicious! -- but because they gave us so much of it! Only thing I would change: they didn't say they put the tomato slices (the hash browns alternative) were briefly thrown on the grill, and thus seemed a little odd to someone who was expecting freshly sliced raw tomatoes. They weren't bad, they just weren't what I was anticipating. Our server was attentive but not intrusive (often a difficult balance), and I'd like to give her a shout-out, but five days out, I'm afraid my middle-aged brain can't remember her name.All-around a great breakfast experience before our dreaded work day began...
After reading the raving reviews, I was excited to try B&D’s. However, our experience was much different. Upon arriving, we weren’t sure we were at the right place. There is no signage that says “B&D”. If you’re in front of O’Shucks in Quarry Village then you are in the right place. Service was fast and the employees were friendly. My husband ordered the Nova Scotia Benedict and I ordered the Burrito with a side of their Sugared Magnolia Bacon. The eggs on the N.S Benedict were a bit under cooked. The food was pretty bland. My burrito had chorizo in it, but I had forgotten it had it til I finished it. Chorizo tends to be a bit on the spicy side and lots of flavor. I should have remembered it was there with every bite but I couldn’t even taste it. It lacked cilantro and all the flavors that make a Mexican breakfast burrito taste amazing. The salsa that came with it was very mild. I added Cholula to it to give it a little kick. The bacon had a bit too much sugar. Actually, the bacon would be amazing without the sugar or much less. Excellent quality and cooked perfectly but the amount of sugar took away from the taste of the bacon. I gave two stars based only on the speed of service and friendliness of the employees. The restaurant is also very clean. If you’re someone who doesn’t like a lot of spice or flavor, this place might be right up your alley. The burrito could be amazing with a few small adjustments. It wasn’t awful but I can get something similar at Maverik or even McDonalds. I forgot to take a picture of my husbands N.S Benedict but visually, it looked very good.
It is a hard place to find with no signage. It is above O’Shucks. The service was good and friendly. We originally asked for water and were given the tiniest glasses! My husband then ordered orange juice & I ordered a Diet Coke. The orange juice was good. The Diet Coke tasted old & dirty. My food however redeemed it all. The biscuits and gravy were so good! The biscuits were light & the gravy was so flavorful. The hash browns were honestly some of the best I have had at a restaurant. They were crispy & well cooked. They had good flavor. My eggs were cooked just right. My husband’s breakfast was good. He had the Kiss my Grits. We also ordered the scone to try. They seemed overpriced to us for two small scones. The scones were cooked well with a crispy outside. The jam & honey butter were pretty good. Overall, I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy. I would absolutely go there & order that again!
Such delicious breakfast. I had their classic breakfast with a pancake on the side and it was cooked perfectly. Scones were thick and tasty!
