I always loved Maple Garden when I was little and was sad to see it close. Luckily, it reopened at the Union Station with the same quality of food. I love the Szechuan chicken the most and the ham fried rice is good too. The lady who is there most of the time who I think is the owner has been very nice and at one point we had forgotten something at the table and she ran out of the establishment to give it back. Mind you this was on a very busy day and so we were very happy with the service. One day though, she came across as a little rude, but I’m sure she was just joking. Overall, I am glad to see it up and running again because the food is just so good.
This is our go to Chinese place and it never fails to hit the spot. I’ve been eating Maple Gardens since I was a toddler and the recipes haven’t changed a bit with the change in location. My kids and husband both love to eat here too! Our go to orders are schezwan chicken, noodles with vegetables and hot and sour soup. DONT skip out on the schezwan or hot and sour it’s sooooo good. Sherry always takes great care of us and my kids know her and love her! It’s generally pretty quick once food is ordered and a great price point to feed the fam!
Food was good, not interested in making a gluten free menu, just uses a gluten free soy sauce substitute and anything stir fry. Gluten free was pretty good not 90 percent onions and green peppers. The last running the place was everywhere, I think was doing everything by herself.
Best Chinese food ever!!! Thanks Sheree … you’re the best?
We are regulars because the food is so good and the owner is so nice to us. Sheree, the owner, is the hardest working person I have ever seen. The restaurant is clean and fun atmosphere at the train station.
The lady who seats you is extremely rude and insulting. Food was not fabulous but I will not eat there ever again because she was so demeaning. She seems like the owner possibly.I ordered the Mongolian beef, there was only 3 bites of beef and the rest were all veggies, very cheap way to save on food costs by hiding the main ingredients.Wife ordered the cashew chicken, hers was pretty good. However, there was so much sauce it was more of a stew than a chicken plate. The owner needs to learn to listen to some of her critics. They will not be in business long if she does not make changes. Her attitude is not appreciated by myself and from reading other comments other customers. You’re restaurant is empty at major meal times. Please take this criticism and make the appropriate changes if you want to see improvements in your business and profits.
I always enjoy coming here. Moo Goo Gai Pan and cashew chicken are my favorites. Egg drop soup is good too! And nobody works as hard as the hostess and only server. She gets it all done. So efficient.
Maple Gardens has been around for a very long time. I went there for years when my children were young. They have since moved to this new location and the menu has fewer items than it used to, but they have done what they have needed to, to survive after all the Covid closures. They are hard workers and do a good job.
Nice little Chinese restaurant in the same building as the railroad museum. The service was very fast and the food decent. I wasn’t a fan of the kung pow chicken, but the moo shu beef has excellent flavor. It’s probably also the best price for food in historic Ogden.
The Szechuan chicken here is amazing! I’ve lived in NYC and LA which both have fantastic Asian food scenes. But the Szechuan chicken at maple gardens is the best I’ve ever had. The prices are great and the portions are large.
