Kind waitress, quick service, good food, but dirty establishment. The floor was sticky. The table we sat at was sticky, and broken. The table was mounted by a metal bracket attached to the wall but there was a foot-sized hole by the metal so there wasn't much supporting the table. In our unfortunate experience, a spider crawled across the table after reaching for the sauces. We moved to a nearby table that wasn't broken but was still sticky. We did inform the waitress why we moved which wasn't a problem. The sauces at the table we moved to were expired since early 2021, as we visited here for the first time in July of 2022. This wasn't a bad experience, but it wasn't a good experience either. I feel like there are competitive diner-style establishments around the area with better cleanliness standards so I don't think we will visit Virg's again.
Our experience was hit and miss.Good prices, and big portion sizes. The staff were friendly and helpful.I ordered breakfast and enjoyed it. The pancake was big and fluffy. Two from my party ordered fish sandwiches and got stomach aches from them. They said the fish tasted like old fry oil.
The food here is exactly what you want when you're tired of looking for some fancy brunch place or a wacky breakfast option. When you go to the Ogden virg's, you'll always have a place to sit and a hot meal that fills you up. You never have a bad meal, but it's never going to be the greatest meal you'll ever find. What really stands out about this place is the service. The people here are so unbelievably friendly and concise. They always keep your coffee full, your food comes out quickly, and you'll always leave with a smile on your face. The scones are fantastic, the eggs Benedict is always spot on, and the outlaw is a fantastic go-to for a classic breakfast with a ham steak. You can't go wrong here. My girlfriend and I have become regulars at this location, and for good reason. It feels like a hometown breakfast spot, and sometimes that's all you need.
I've been looking for a good place to get fish and chips, and have driven by Virg's many times. I saw on their online menu that they are highly rated for fish and chips. I decided to give them a try with take out.The place was pretty busy. Lots of plates going by during my short wait at the cash register. Piled with hash browns, ham, and French toast, this is clearly a classic diner. My fish portions were good sized, with probably the most crisp, and therefore best, coating I’ve had. The fish itself was firm yet flaky, just like it’s supposed to be. A large portion of tater tots (also very crisp) lay beneath the fish, and a generous portion of coleslaw to the side. The latter was creamy, fresh, and tasty. I make my own tartar sauce, so I didn’t try one of the two cups they gave me, and I used ketchup on the fries instead of the two cups of fry sauce. All in all, I feel I’ve found a good place to go when I get that fried fish craving. Who knows, maybe I’ll try some other items on their ample menu. Kind of a strange little place, but I see why folks go there.
Great diner... traditional breakfast with hearty portions served quickly. Good value with a warm and familiar ambiance. Ranks in our top 5 breakfast spots. :)
In a old dining car of a train atmosphere. You sit in booths. Waitresses give off the vibe of knowing everyones name as you come in. You seat yourselves.Very friendly place. Food was large portions. I had a Burrito Buster. Only could eat about 1/3 of it. Was huge.Took leftovers home.
Nice atmosphere.Menus haven’t been updated in a while (they don’t offer squash or zucchini on their omelets, they don’t mention fruit as an option for a side, they don’t have the restaurant name or logo anywhere on the menu?).Several of the grapes looked withered. I lost my appetite when I found mold on one of them. Wait staff did the right thing and took it off my order.Should be an okay place to eat, just don’t get their “fresh” fruit.
This place is a ma and pops place with the ambiance like a 50s diner. It's good food and LARGE portions. Food is rich and delicious. If your hungry and around the hospital, go here and get some food and have a bit of fun looking around.
I have to say, as far as a great traditional breakfast. This is where it's at. Good service very good food and a quaint atmosphere. They have great scones, omelets and the coffee isn't half bad. You cannot beat the price for the amount of food you get.
Amazing food, great service and reasonable prices! The Denver omelet and breakfast burrito are excellent for breakfast. The burger's are wonderful for lunch! Love this place! Highly recommended!
