I've been to Maria's about 4 times. The setting is good. They get busy, yet the service is also good. The food that I have ordered has always been the best. The chicken tostada was not good. The chicken was cold and I couldn't get over the taste. The beef didn't have seasoning or salt. I think the food could definitely have some improvement.

We went for our 6 year anniversary it was nice, wish we could have gotten the table we had last year but that wasn’t possible over all service was fantastic food was very nicely prepared I had street tacos - significant other had chicken quesadilla they said it was delicious. This was our 4th time eating here on special occasions on my birthday they sang happy birthday and I got to wear the sombrero and got a treat so all in all I rate this place a 5⭐️?treat in picture so good.

Very poor good quality with a long wait over 30 minutes. Our poor server kept bringing chips and drinks. Wasn't his fault about the kitchen. The mole was a huge disappointment. Tasted canned and I make my own a few times a year so I know the specifics. Also I am fairly sure that big bald employee is taking others cash and pocketing it. I tried to tell the hostess Ruth but she pretended not to understand me. Sadly not a good experience overall.

Delicious food and great service.Once we ordered our food came fast, with 15 minutes. Our drinks were always full. Our waiter was Alex. He was friendly and kind with good communication skills.

I'm not really sure why this restaurant is so highly rated. The food is really bland. The comp chips and salsa were probably the only food worth returning for. Even though the salsa was way too spicy for my preference, everyone else at my table liked it. The service also left much to be desired.. my waitress even forgot to take my order and I had to chase her down; we saw her so infrequently, I wouldn't have gotten my food otherwise. It is a pretty small restaurant so I'm not sure why we hardly saw the waitress. Needless to say, I won't be returning and neither will the rest of our party from that night.

I ordered takeout of a shrimp chimichanga platter and had gross beef littered in my meal. Beans and rice were dry and old. Chimi tasted okay excluding the beef. Portions for guacamole and sour cream were tiny and the container I bought of extra guacamole was the size of a small sauce container and not worth the price. This business needs to be more conscientious about including foods that were not ordered, some people have dietary restrictions/allergens/food sensitivities. Not equivalent to Cali food lol.

This is the best Mexican food I've eaten in Ogden. The refried beans are so delicious. This reminds me of some of the restaurants in old San Diego. Solid flavors, delicious, large amounts of food for what you are paying. This is my new favorite local Mexican. I will be back

Food was pretty good, but the service was not great. We waiting a good 10 minutes for chips, another 5 for salsa, then another 10 got drink orders and another 5 for food orders. Then we had to ask for silverware and wait a few minutes. Saw several tables get up and go ask for silverware as well. And they really were not that busy.

Nicer quality Mexican restaurant; which is appealing to some, sure, but others that are looking for something a little more "authentic" might not like this place as much. It seems like "whole-in-the-wall" Mexican restaurants have a more traditional and closer to actual Mexican food taste, but they typically aren't as nice and clean as Maria's. Expect $12-$15 per person (more if you order dessert), which is higher than what you find at those whole-in-the-wall restaurants.Their Large Combination Platter for $15 is a decent amount of food (you could arguably feed 2 with it).Their Fried Ice Cream is decent ($7), vanilla ice cream wrapped in a deep fried wrapper, covered in caramel, cinnamon, and coconut topping.

My son and his fiancee took the family out to dinner because they were going to be gone for a while. I had the large platter of chile verde wet burrito with an enchilada, tostada, rice and beans. Also ordered a ground beef taco. Helen ordered the chile rellano platter and Evan had the menudo which was fantastic. My wet burrito did not have a great cheese sauce as I was anticipating, it tasted like a dull enchilada sauce instead. The taco, had a manufactured shell, and the beef had no flavor. The tostada, same. Manufactured shell. The rellano perfect. I think if you are going to be authentic, you should not cut corners and put out Manufactured shells. The salsa, for the chips and salsa, tasted like Pace picante with jalapeño and cilantro added. They need to up their game. Fresh needs to be a priority and maybe hire a professional tortilla maker that makes Fresh on the spot. I wouldn't mind going in there and teaching them how to make hot sauces and Pico salsas, that are Fresh. The difference between California authentic Mexican food, and Utah Mexican food, needs to learn to make it better. Helen and I would love to teach the cooks a few things.
