Jake's Over the Top went over the top with their service last night. It's getting frustrating to go out to eat and have lobbies closed. Jake's was closed, but we really wanted food and shakes. We were slightly disappointed. The group I was with was on ebikes and some restaurants have issues with bikes going through drivethrus, but we decided to try. The workers noticed our hesitancy, came out with a mobile register and took our order on the spot, in the parking lot. After they served us food, they came out and checked on us regularly making sure we were all set with the items we needed. Every employee was awesome and warm. Great job, Jakes!
They really need to update a lot of places where they have a menu. Everywhere shows it's a Mexican place. Which is cool, Mexican is my fave. So, I had to call to make sure it was a burger joint and not Mexican. Sweet, get my food, go home. ... ... Fries were dripping with oil. Like they let them soak in col oil so the fries would absorb a ton of oil and then try to deep fry them. But they were not fries. They were bloated greasy strips of starch. Being a lover of fries, I was super disappointed. I ordered the large and could only eat maybe half before I had to toss them. However, the Jake Sauce (snicker) was awesome.Now the most disappointing part of this little adventure. The burger. While a massive burger, it was like eating a hocky puck. It felt like it was from frozen, which I get. Most burgers are frozen. To me, it tasted like a really downgrade of beef. I've heard so many great things that I was excited. I wish my experience was better. $15 for grease and meh meat.
The absolute best in Hamburgers, Fish & chicken sandwiches W/Amazing fries & Jake's dipping sauce you have to try as your fry sauce. They also have the original fry sauce. And the very best part is the perfect shakes they make of your choice, & it goes above the rim of the cup about 2 in or more. If your in Ogden or any other one out of Utah & haven't tried it yet, Bet you will love all of the food, service & Quality. Take it from me. ?❤️
Their grilled chicken sandwich is amazing! A little bit busy but that is to be expected at 9:00 at night. Friendly employees. Definitely coming back soon.
After being really sick finally sounded good so we headed over to Jake's over the top. I got a chicken strip basket with cheese on the fries, a side or ranch and the Jake's fry sauce stuff. I asked for a large coke and large ice water and said I would pay extra for the cup for the water. The girl at the window said they can only do water in the small cups. Whatever. She handed me the food and when I got home all of the lids on the sauces had come off and soaked up in the fries and chicken and my seat that the food was on.This is extremely frustrating because I just wasted my money. I ordered a coke and got a Dr pepper which is disgusting. My daughter ordered a strawberry shake and got plain vanilla. There are no berries in it. We just checked by putting it in a clear cup. This was my daughter's reward for getting student of the month and making a competition soccer team so we tried to make it a special day for her and now she's sad about the shake.
Loved the concept and was looking forward to a juicy burger. But....it was sub par. Burger was dry and over cooked. I got the bbq bacon. The flavors were meh. I wouldn't go again. On a positive the staff was nice, service was quick and I love the concept.
this place is the bomb! dot! com! everything is delicious and extraordinary and tasty 10/10
The ice cream milkshake was excellent as were the onion rings… Would I return? Yes, definitely yes!
I love the shakes here but the last three times I’ve tried to get them I drive there and find out they are closed hours before their listed closing time. I end up having to find other places to go get a good shake. I wish they would stay open!
Cup holders are horrible. Dropped all three of my shakes because they are so flimsy. Went back to get another shake and I think I was given a dirty cup. I ordered a strawberry shake and there was remnants of an Oreo shake at the bottom of the cup.
