We have loved coming to Farr's for decades. We moved out of the state a few years ago and when we visit we always look forward to stopping in. It's been a couple of years, with Covid since we have been able to visit. We just came to Utah and of course stopped in for my favorite of all time ice cream. To my very sad disappointment, the recipe has changed. Cherry chocolate chip doesn't look like the picture on the wall upstairs at your Ogden location. It is so heavily loaded with the chocolate shavings that it is almost black. This makes it very bitter. Very few cherries can be found as well. I do not like this new recipe. I noticed that all of the chocolate chip varieties are all this way. Heavy handed on the chocolate shavings. I will not be having my favorite ice cream any longer. On another note, my husband used to look forward to the black licorice ice cream. He loved when it turned his mouth black. Now the flavor is weak and it does not stain his mouth at all. What has happened to our favorite ice cream place. We are all so disappointed and sad. Please please bring back our flavors the way they used to be. They were great then, now they are not.Thank you.Sheri and Family Gaile
SOOOO many options and choices of ice cream ?? this was our last stop for the evening too end our son's birthday celebration.
Excellent ice cream......decent line but workers got all guests through in a timely fashion. Will go back to sample multiple other flavors. Love the banana nut. Kids liked the chocolate marshmallow and burnt chocolate fudge. Size of cone is big. If you get a 3 scooper bring your appetite.
The amount of options available are plently. There is probably a flover here for almost anyone and at a great price too! Favorite part was getting to sit down and enjoy the ice cream in 60s diner type area.
Servings are much bigger than Baskin Robbins, for example. So many different flavors than you find at other ice cream establishments. Black licorice, fire stick (cinnamon) Root beer, and plenty of fun combinations. Sherbets available. Sugar free. They have scratch and dent containers for a discounted price. They also carry a variety pack of bottled root beers that makes a great gift. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
I have never been to the shop, but we always bought Farr Better Play Dough ice cream at the grocery store. It's my favorite flavor of ice cream. I only wish I could find it in Oregon, too! Whenever I visit family in Utah, I always have to grab some play dough ice cream.
We're traveling in the area and somebody recommended that would go here, or we glad they made the recommendation the staff here is outstanding and the products here are delicious.
Absolutely love this place! It was one of the first places I tried when moving here to Ogden and We keep going back to this place. The atmosphere is pretty cool but the ice cream is definitely worth the drive. I have not had a bad flavor and they have such a variety definitely a place to check out. Sometimes there’s a line but it goes pretty fast and there’s reason to!
Nostalgia abound in this fun old fashioned ice cream shop! Plus get candy, games and other fun souvenirs. We always get cookie dough and this time tried (and loved) the raspberry cheesecake.
Be prepared to wait up to a half hour to get in the door. This is a popular place. I always enjoy their root beer ice cream. Way to many flavors make it hard to choose. Also, unlike Aggie Ice Cream in Logan, these guys won't split one scoop into two flavors.
