The coffee acidic like when you warm it forever. I had to ask for another one. It didn't change much, it reminded me the TV show Benny Hill. You say breakfast, and immediately comes to mind coffee, the smell. It is very easy when a customer ask for coffee, brew some new. Giving reheated coffee that has been boiling to customers is not nice. The cook came with our order, left the food on the table, turned around and left. He didn't stop to ask us "is there anything else I can get for you?" you know like other waiters. Obviously not a waiter.
Love VI....my parents took me after church every Sunday...and I take my son every Sunday now too. It's a great tradition. One thing about Utah is every single breakfast place has a 30-60 minute wait on the weekends, and when I just woke up and am hungry....I simply cannot wait that amount of time to get nourished. VI ALWAYS has seating and I've had to wait 10 mins TOPS on holidays and what not. Waitresses are always so nice and sweet. Food is obviously not Michelin star, but it's honest and it's really good for the price. Would I eat here daily? no! Would I eat here weekly for the rest of my life? I'm 20 years strong into it, and don't see myself stopping anytime soon.
My breakfast for lunch was very good. I had the California Skillet. Our server was rushed and short in the beginning. They were a little busy, but not that bad. In any case, calm and kind get the best tips from me.
I understand there is a staffing shortage but service was terrible at its best. I went in with a group of four other people. After being seated we waited a fairly long time before our drink orders were taken. When drinks arrived one party asked if she could please have a straw. Two others then requested one as well. The server said sure but then disappeared. He came back to take our orders and we request that he bills us separately and we are told no, they will split it at the counter. Again he was asked for straws. He says ok and goes to put in our orders, but still doesn’t bring straws. When he finally drops off the food he is asked again but he never stops back to the table to check on us or bring straws. The instant potatoes and grisly meat was gross but at this point we are just ready to leave. We take the check to be split and each of us one at a time says what we ordered and pays before the next. First and second pay. I approach tell him my order and he tells me that food isn’t what’s left of the ticket. I ask what is and then explain I will pay for two particular meals and drinks. My charges seemed high but again, I just want to go. The last member of our party goes up to pay and is told that I said I was paying for everything so there is no bill for him. I get being short staffed but the total lack of customer service or even common sense is astonishing.
Food was good but they are obviously understaffed. We spent a while waiting both to be seated and for our food. Otherwise nice place to eat.
I missed having Village Inn near my hometown so I wanted to come eat here. It was delicious, the staff was phenomenal (lookin at you Philip!), and we got our food quickly. So happy I stopped here!!!
It's tough to find good pies and Village Inn does a really good job.Their fruit pies are pretty good, and I would buy them again, but Marie Calendars are definitely better. Both of them are a great value. Both are way better than pies from Harmons, Smiths, or any grocery store, and they cost about the same.If you like French silk pies though Villagr Inn has a great one.
Excellent brunch with my Wife. Pat was our server and she is Old School. She scans her tables, and clears empty plates and trash as they appear. When you want her attention, she is never far away. That's how wait staff is SUPPOSED to operate!
Good food for the price. Courteous service, too!
Very disappointing visit today. Pumpkin pancakes are back. They were not done; gooey. Togo order of pumpkin pancakes, same; gooey. Togo, chicken fried steak breakfast, comes with pancakes; no pancakes. Only one egg. I appreciate food industry people. Hard job. Didn't raise a stink but I doubt I'll go back. I can't afford to waste money on food that is unedible.
