Upon entering the establishment you are met with what looks like a normal fast food operation. How ever, you are quickly met with an unnerving and uneasy feeling as you walk to the counter and notice the employee brigade. They are all too young, as though they only hire from Murray High. Scanning the team, you don’t see anyone who could be considered a shift lead or manager. The banter between workers is loud and irrelevant to the work that they aren’t doing.But you are hungry, so you approach the counter. The employee argues in a foreign tongue for a few seconds before acknowledging your annoying presence. His mask is firmly below his nose. You order a simple burrito, and he asks what beans you want. You state “black” clearly, but he only repeats the question. After finally getting him to understand, he barks back and continues to be rude for the rest of the transaction.After wondering how ordering a burrito could be so difficult from a Mexican restaurant, you move down the line to the checkout worker. She moves with the speed of a geriatric sloth moving backwards through time. More foreign dialogue is exchanged, and the burrito line pauses again. You stand, credit card ready to pay, but your order is inexplicably still not placed in a bag. After your food is now cold, you are allowed the mercy to pay and leave the store, only to eat your ill-prepared meal in silent disgrace and left to wonder if the employees were wearing gloves at all. Because they definitely didn’t wash their hands.
they have never got our order right one time, there is always something.corn torillas even though you request flour, this cafe rio is one of the worst for service. I do not recommned this location. I WONT BE COMING BACK,THANKS THOUGH. OUR OFFICE USEDDTO COME THERE 3 TIMES A WEEK BUT THE LOUSY SERVICE JUST HAS GIVING US THE TIME TO FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO SPEND OR MONEY. IM REALLY SURE YOU ARE GOING TO TALK TO ANYBODY AT THE STORE.
We had a little SNAFU with our order through DoorDash last night, but these guys really came through. We had to drive over there, but they gave us fresh food (what we actually ordered and 2 free drinks) even though they were technically closed. The food was excellent. We will definitely come back for service like this.
I gave 2 because the place was clean - that being said, there were few customers, so there may have been nothing to clean up. The food was visibly dry. And I mean ALL the food. It appeared it was sitting out for a few hours. When I asked for my burrito with JUST additional sauce I got sauce and cheese and, of course, charged for something I didn't want. I am also testing whether or not I get sick from the lettuce that was also sitting out... wish me luck do dysentery!
Tortillas were crusty almost chip like. Barely put anything on the salad- not to mention it being half the usual size. Salad dressing recipe change? Don’t recall it ever being white and spicey before. Cafe Rios quality is going down. Also couldn’t even clean our table- too much garbage...
Disgusting. You know it’s bad when you have buyers remorse before you have even paid. Sure enough it’s not good. The tortilla is overcooked, guacamole is turning brown, and what’s the deal with the salad being half the size of what it’s supposed to be? Ugh, what a gross experience.At the time of this review they have 2.7 stars. I completely see why. Wish I had checked before hand.
Horrible experience. The kids working are very unprofessional. Does no one over 16 work there? A bunch of kids chatting and yelling. The food was horrible the guacamole was brown almost black. The food looked horrible. I am a huge fan of Café Rio but this one’s the worst I’ve ever seen.
Everytime I go inside this store it looks like a big mess. Like a teenager's bedroom! Cups, aprons, jackets, half eaten employee meals strewn around, chairs in disarray, and a staff that doesn't acknowledge you. It is very uninviting and if I were the manager I'd be so mad to walk in on my restaurant looking like that!
Not going to lie, pretty bad. Do yourself a favor and go to the Fort Union location.Food was sub par. The tortilla that was half sized, turning the burrito into a big taco. The sweet pork wasn't even close to the same as what I am use to. The lettuce seemed days old and wilted.The place was a mess, tables needed to be washed, garbage overflowing.I would think for a new location it would be pretty clean, but it reminded me of a run down mcdonalds.
How do you run out of pork by 6:00pm?… I waited behind two cars for 20 minutes to pick up my food. Ordered a grilled chicken salad, the chicken was dry and hard. Needless to say I definitely won’t be back to this location
