Normally we love old grist mill sandwiches but this location is sadly a constant disappointment. We ordered sandwiches for our family and every single sandwich had a single slice of meat on it. We have never been so disappointed.

Our family loves this place, especially this location! We are always blown away by how reasonable the prices are and how good everything tastes. This morning we got bagel breakfast sandwiches, which are perfect in taste and flavor. We bought bread, pumpkin cake, and cookies for the road and everything so far has been delicious. The staff was friendly and they were all working hard. We stop here every time we're in Logan and will always have it on our list of places to go when we're there.

Sorry but I have to update my review from before that i left below. I can't go here for lunch anymore because it takes so long to get food. Also they never have puff pastries anymore. I used to come just for those. When I get rasberry rolls instead they are never fresh and are at least a day old and not soft anymore. Place is changing for the worse.Best deal for lunch. Great sandwiches. Nice people that work there.

I waited for over 10 minutes for my sandwich when there was only one other customer. The employee making them clocked out mid sandwiches and left and no one else was up front. I’ve been coming here for almost 20 years and until recently I’ve not had much issues but employees are not wearing hair ties and/or hats while making the food. Also I’ve waited at the registers a few times and employees were too busy talking with one another instead of helping me or other customers.

I have been waiting for over 25 minutes to get a sandwich and pumpkin square to go. There are three employees making sandwiches and still several people that haven’t received their food and they were here before me. No line when I came in. Just people waiting for their food. Great Harvest can make sandwiches faster! Finally got my sloppily made sandwich and the pumpkin square with half of the frosting after waiting for over 30 minutes. Definitely not a “fast food” sandwich shop?

Arrived yesterday at 11am and they actually had soup this time, I was not really impressed the first two times i ate there, the food was just okay and the service was slow and of little help. Yesterday I tried the vegetable beef soup and white bread. The soup was almost entirely broth and the carrots and beans were tough to chew and the potatoes were non existent. They forgot to put butter on the bread after personally asking for it. Then with only two orders ahead of us it took just under 14 minutes to get a bowl of soup an two slices of bread. My 14 year old daughter can make better vegetable beef soup than this stuff. It will be my last visit if I have any say in the matter. Only giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because they had my favorite drink in bottles.

The staff get worse and worse as time goes on. Robert has taken my order the last 3 visits here and each time the order is wrong. I can’t believe how incompetent and unprofessional he is. (I know it doesn’t take a lot of brains to take orders at a restaurant.)Giving this 2 stars since I love the food and have been coming here for years. I’m good friends with Val Christensen and Curtis Heaton, the owners, so I will continue to come here. Just hoping that they will hire better quality staff!

Had the Philly steak and cheese. Was the worst sandwich I have ever had. It was 3 pieces of deli roast beef not steak. Some peppers and onions. NO cheese. Was absolutely the worst sandwich.

Our order for sandwiches was disappointing. The bread was dry and quite appetizing. We called the store about this. We were told they use day-old bread to make sandwiches made prior to 11:30 a.m. Our order was made about 11:00 a.m. There was no offer to us to address our complaint. Our impression was customers should expect a lower quality product and be satisfied with it when ordering sandwiches prior to 11:30 a.m.

I love Old Grist Mill. But I don’t love it enough to wait an hour for my sandwich. This is the THIRD time I’ve waited an hour or more in the last few weeks. It seems to be a frequent problem per multiple people’s review below mine. No one has time for that. Especially people who only have an hour lunch. It’s ridiculous. I’ll be at Jimmy John’s from now on, a little more expensive but freaky fast, so I’ll have time to run my errands on my lunch break. Also, the employees were brushing their hair and face and not changing gloves, and on top of that, in my opinion, if you are making sandwiches and leaning over the sandwich to reach for toppings and things, you should be wearing a hair net as well. Definitely some things could be fixed as far as cleanliness practices.
