I am a local resident and have coming to this place my whole life basically. I will say that the customer service recently is not consistent, sometimes exceptional sometimes they could care less . I bet this is mostly due to how hard it is to hire people now a days. Food still is the same as I remember it being and me and my family think it is good. If you want cheap, large portions of decent Chinese food this place does then I would definitely recommend this place.
I've been craving Chicken Chow Mien with crunchy noodles for a while. One of the recommendations given to us was for Royal Jade by the intersection of Fairfield & gentile & Layton. I ordered some & my husband ordered something else. They both hit the spot for us. I LOVE the crunchy noodles so got extra bags. They were very reasonably priced compared to other local places where they cost double or 2.25 Xs more per bag, which is absurd, since I wanted to buy 5 extra bags & the noodles would cost more than the entree'. Royal Jade is farther away but their food & service & value is great.
I’m so sad. Wanted to try something close so we wouldn’t use the gas or spend time driving. Everything tasted the same. Soggy breaded chicken and soggy egg rolls. Bland rice, bland noodles, bland kung pao. I was hoping for a new place to call or own. Not going to happen now. I can’t believe this place rates 4 stars. I should have read all the reviews.
Against other reviews I ate here. I wish I could leave ZERO stars. I've never had Chow Mein without noodles and have cold soggy lettuce instead. I'll never eat here again. All other meals were very disappointing. STAY AWAY.
Huge portions for a low priceI always get the Mandarin chicken with the hot and sour soup I love the fried rice the only place that has better fried rice as my Mom's kitchen lol and the chicken is great it's spicy but not too spicy like some other places you can still taste every kind of seasoning the batter that they use to fry the chicken and the chicken itself taste great.I hate mushrooms yet somehow I love the mushrooms in their soup I have no idea how but if you want to take someone on a date too nice but cheap diner this is your place or if you want to treat your friends.I love the art that they have in the building mainly the Kermit the frog drinking tea in the back of the store every time I bring one of my friends there for the first time it's the first thing they spot
Just had a very very large order, waited a lot longer than expected to pick up our food, got home and where missing 3 orders of white rice and an order of fried rice. Called to let them know and see how they could fix it. Talked to a young man who was a little flustered and not quite sure how to go about it but was very kind. Got his manager on the phone and OH. MY. GOSH. Hands down one of the rudest people I’ve ever spoken to. She was incredibly rude, told me she couldn’t refund us the food we paid for and weren’t given and had the nerve to tell me “well first off let me tell you that the white rice that comes with your entrees is complimentary soooooo” kept speaking incredibly rude to me while she was on speaker phone and my entire family could hear her and I told her “all I wanted was you to right the wrong and give me the food I paid for and I’m baffled right now. This is one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had” and she said… “ok have a nice night then” and hung up. Not to mention the food was less than mediocre. As someone who worked in customer service for almost a decade and recruited, hired and trained sales associates, I can’t wrap my head around how someone like that is employed in an industry where she is required to interact with people. If I overheard one of my employees speaking to a customer like this or saw this review, they would be fired. Good luck to the owners employing this awful awful employee. Your door has a sign that reads “help wanted” well help is STILL needed/wanted.
Tried to call for a takeout order and they hung up twice!
The wife and I love to get egg drop soup and tea from here. Nice little place, their soup is the best. ???
The food quality has gone downhill and the carpet is filthy with torn up upholstery on the booths. The sauces for the orange chicken and tiny spicy chicken are straight out if a can and not authentic at all. No price on the appearance of the restaurant or the food bring served. I order a shrimp dish last week and the shrimp was so dried out in the coating o asked what happened. The server said that dish wasn’t very popular, so the shrimp was probably freezer-burned. ? We found real Chinese food at Buddha Belly in Kaysville and won’t be back to Royal Jade anytime soon.
Nice little place, friendly, hard-working people with tasty dishes.
