Holy smoke bbq is the standard that all bbq should be held too. The food is incredibly flavorful ( the spicy plum sauce is to die for. I actually requested to buy a bottle to take home with me, it was that good) and perfectly cooked. The stores humorous approach to decor as well as their satirical signs had me busting out laughing and searching the restaurant for all the the little jokes hidden throughout. I honestly cannot recommend this restaurant enough. If you do not stop here while in the salt lake city area you are doing yourself an incredible disservice. My only complaint is they are not a chain, because I want one where I live.
I'm kind of particular when it comes to BBQ meats. The wifey and I shared the big Round up Sampler. It has tons of meat, cornbread, and 3 sides. My forever favorite is the brisket, next I'd say were the ribs and last the chicken and pulled pork. All the BBQ sauces were fun to try. Next time I'll just get the brisket. If I had to be a "Karen" about something, the sofa machine was about out of carbonation because my Dr Pepper tasted two days old.
I forgot to take a picture because it was after I ate it that I wanted to review it ?But I seriously love this place, I moved to Layton almost a year ago, and I think I can say that Holy Smoke is my favorite thing about Layton so far (besides the people). HahaI’m a huge fan of their atmosphere and values. The girl at the front desk was clearly burnt out this last visit, but was still friendly and courteous and noticeably on top of everything.And of course, the food is delicious all the way around. The ribs especially were perfectly tender and juicy.Keep up the good work!
my boyfriend & I went here for DINNER! the FOOD is great, the service was awesome. And i enjoyed their homemade BBQ sauce so much, that I bought a bottle of it. The sauce is that GOOD! WORTH GOING!
Ribs are juicy and tender. best in town. Service was good. Lunch was quick and easy. atmosphere was good.
Very good service and food, and very busy. Line when they opened.I'm a light weight, their mildest spice was not too bad.
We are BBQ people, and this is the best in UT. We are visiting the state and we couldn't leave without it. The ribs and brisket are my favorite. Hush puppies, fried okra, it's all good. We like "Sweeter than you first kiss" BBQ sauce. There are several to try. Oh, the home made pickles are fantastic. Check the schedule before you come up, I think they are only open 4 or 5 days a week.
10/10 recommended! Super delicious ? I got the ribs and the beef brisket. Fairly priced and the staff was really friendly. The corn bread muffins were amazing as well!
We just finished the best Thanksgiving meal from Holy Smoke. The food is fantastic and the preparation was perfect and prompt. I highly recommended this place.
It’s hard when the current pandemic sends shockwaves through local food haunts; however, holy smoke bbq seems to be turning the other cheek and gracing their customers with wit and a fun ambiance.As for the food, unfortunately I am a victim of high expectations. While the food was overall tasty, after reading the previous reviews, I was ready for exceptional. The brisket was a bit dry and I personally wasn’t a fan of the coleslaw.However! The pork ribs and beans were delicious and the red head worker was bubbly and extremely nice and helpful
