It feels like it's relatively understaffed for a prominent place like this. We saw many tables were empty, but we were told that there was waiting for almost 50minutes to an hour at 10 am on Saturday. The hosts at the door seemed rude while informing us of the wait time and lacked compassion. It felt like we were just being shooed away. They showed no eagerness to get us on the waitlist or even ask us if we wanted to wait or not. However, my main issue was that we saw a significant section of the area with many tables mere empty, so we think they must be understaffed. But if they were not then I am highly disappointed by the service, especially a 12-year-old girl with me who wanted to have her favorite pancakes.
Horrible service! Horrible management! Would never comeback.Waited 30 minutes to be seated. Once seated 45 minutes later were told our ticket got put In wrong and she would go fix it. We told her no we will pay for our drinks a leave. She said that had to be approved by the manager and void the ticket. We never saw the manager he told her to tell us to just leave.Very unprofessional and not to mention frustrating. The table behind us had been sitting for 15 minutes and had no drinks. One gentleman next to us had been waiting on his bill and never got it and went to the register to pay.Another table had a mixed up order on eggs and after they were finished eating she brought out her correct order out. This was all tables being taken care of the same waitress. She wasn’t even out with the customers. All the other tables were being taken care of around us.Between this waitress and the manager not impressed!
If you are wanting some real food food, not gimmick fast food but real food that sticks with you all day, then come to this cracker barrel. I am from the south and while visiting Utah, i wanted some real home cooking and I am glad I found this place. It was my go to for the several months I was here in Utah. Breakfast was iffy, but supper and lunch were always good. Best green beans, fish, mac and cheese, and mash taters I ever had.
Was great as always!! And service was excellent!!!
Parking close to the door. Clean dining area and clean restrooms. Friendly staff. I always enjoy the gift shopping area. Good food. I had the country fried steak. Also it's handicap accessible if needed.
I really wasn't expecting much but I took my family here for lunch. We all had breakfast meals, eggs to order, pancakes, sausage, bacon, ham, biscuits and gravy, grits and hash browns. It was all really good. Everyone enjoyed everything they had. Surpassed expectations.
We had a large party of 25 and called ahead a week early to set up a reservation. They said they didn't do those and to call the day of. We called and were told that once we got there they would seat us in a certain section. We arrived and we told they couldn't accommodate that large of a party. They would seat 10 of us in 30 min and then another 10 am hour after that. We left and went to Sizzler. They accommodated us and the service was excellent.
Good food, great price, especially these days. Sadly we got there only a half hour before close but they were kind and hospitable, making sure we were relaxed and enjoyed our meal and not rushed. Great experience. Just wish there was one closer to where I live.
The Layton Utah store has had TERRIBLE service. Was told 25 min wait for 2. And 50 mins later we were still 8 down on the list. Needless to say we didn’t stay. Then we went with family and did the get in line on the app and hour before we would be there so there would be no issue with our group of 12. We get there and are told it will be 1 1/2 hours longer wait and that they are putting us at two different tables of 6 on opposite sides of the restaurant. The hostess is very un caring about any of your concerns when you try to explain anything. We went to a different restaurant close by and were treated so much better! With the last two experiences here, we unfortunately won’t be back.
OK so I don’t generally eat here very often because I prefer more of a gourmet selection when I go out. But that does not mean these guys don’t get five stars. And here’s why. This place is great at putting out simply delicious meat and potatoes style dishes. Kind of a southern comfort kind of thingPrice is very low. Put that together and that’s what these guys are going to. They are five stars and putting together simple cost effective meals with a fun atmosphere. They have a fun gift shop to peruse while you’re waiting for your table. They have games and crayons for the kids once you are seated. Probably one of the most kid friendly restaurants I know of.
