Water Moon offered an adequate experience for me. The service was good and the staff was friendly, but the quality of my meal tasted "ordinary". I ordered their Orange Chicken lunch and it seemed mildly bland. Just nothing that would stand out from the texture of the food. I compare it to Panda Express's chicken. Good/decent but not spectacular...which is what I'm looking for from a restaurant charging more than Panda Express. Perhaps it was the specific food. Overall, Water Moon was a fine experience but not to special.
Water moon has some of the tastiest sushi and teriyaki chicken! We’d get seated quickly and never spent a long time waiting for a server. It is a bit pricey for what you get but the food is good.
Over priced… confusing pricing online. Don’t refer to the pricing from Google. We got general tso and Mongolian beef dinners and a large hot and sour soup. The total came out to $46 plus tip.The portions were small like a lunch portion maybe smaller. The beef dish had thinly sliced beef maybe only 10 pieces ( not even 4 oz) lots of onions . My general tso was kinda bland - better off going to Panda Express to save some money.I’ve eaten a lot of Asian food from Washington DC and Hong Kong. This was just bleh and Draper pricing. I won’t be going back, sorry as others have mentioned it’s just way over priced.
So good. I'm from Seattle, and this is the first Chinese food in Utah in over 20 years that I'd give 5 stars. We ordered everything gluten free where available. They followed all instructions, and it was delicious. This is our new go to. The Kung Pao Chicken is especially delightful.
Our monthly girls lunch brought us to Water Moon. It is tucked away in an unassuming little spot next to the Draper Harmons. We opted for a booth (love this) for a little more privacy since out lunches last for several hours. We chose Water Moon because the menu offers a variety of Chinese and Japanese dishes. The service was incredible! Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, specials, and everything else we threw at her. Best of all our glasses were always full and she let us stay as long as we needed explaining that she hadn't seen her friends and family in two years because of Covid and understood. We ordered a bento box, and three sushi rolls. The food was beautifully prepared with care and fresh ingredients.Bento Box ReviewThe hot and sour soup was similar to what you will find at most places, but this one was a bit more peppery, which I enjoyed. Although it didn't beat my favorite place, it became my second favorite.I chose the Asian salad dressing thinking it would be the classic rice vinegar and sugar but this was so much more. It was thicker, a little spicy (think horseradish not hot peppers), and gingery. I loved the dressing! I could have just order salad with this dressing and been happy. The Gyoza, General Tso's chicken, and fried rice were typical of what you would find elsewhere which is nice for people who have a hard time trying new foods or kids looking for something familiar.Sushi Roll ReviewThe sushi here was one of the best places I've been to where sushi is not the main item offered. It is fresh, beautiful, and very tasty. If your friends are used to grocery store sushi, they will be blown away with how good sushi really is without being intimidated by trying new kinds.CleanlinessThis is possibly one of the cleanest restaurants I've been to lately. In our 4+ hour luncheon I saw them cleaning menus, floors, and chairs (including the legs) in between rushes of customers. I deeply value that in a restaurant. The only suggestion I would like to offer is an all you can eat sushi option.
Food is good but constantly changing prices aren't. Prices are listed but some are crossed out and changed. Others are changed but have no actual notice of the change. Hence the review.Charged at the end of meal nearly $20 for one regular plate of noodles and water. House Cantonese noodles. If they'd have listed it with the proper price instead of the "old" price(old price was the only listed price at all in the restaurant and was the one in the menu) I'd have just gone somewhere else. Nobody is going to legitimately pay you $20 for a plate of noodles, that's why you don't list the prices correctly and surprise people at the end of the meal. Will never come here again and will warn others against coming here. You did it to yourself with shady business practices.
Water Moon has good food, and very attentive staff, but is far too expensive for what you get. My office took us out to lunch at Water Moon and I really enjoyed the meal. The soup was good, the sushi rolls were fine/good, and my Japanese teriyaki steak bento box was very tasty (except for the California roll. I didn’t like theirs.) I was going to rate it 4 stars (even considering 5) but then I looked up the price and was stunned at how much everything cost. I just hadn’t noticed since I wasn’t paying during my visit. I enjoyed the service and I enjoyed the food. But for me and my budget, it’s just too expensive for what you get.
Me and my lady were looking to try something new, this ain't it. The decor was confusing which made the environment seem... funny. The food was hardly memorable, if it wasn't so bad I'd wouldn't have remembered it at all. I'd say too greasy for my taste and very basic. Prices are standard.
Good food and good service, but the price for what you get is beyond astronomical. There's no ambience, no special gimmick, nothing to justify the cost, it's just an expensive place to sit at a table and eat.
Service was good. Just not a huge fan of the food and really high prices.
