I tried this restaurant chain for the first time. I ordered the chicken fried steak which appeared to be their signature dish. I got a plate covered in liquid "gravy". The patty was soaking wet (see picture). After insisting that they redo it with actual gravy and not soaking wet, it was edible but very underwhelming. The gravy is from a bag. No real flavor. The patty was obviously from a pre-made frozen facility. The mashed potatoes were made from red potatoes which is a weird choice since red potatoes get very sticky/gummy in mashed potato form. The highlights were the salad (good blue cheese dressing) and the extremely tasty corn on the cob.I would not recommend!

We stayed across the street at Springhill Suites and walked over for dinner. Cute place. Good food, decent prices. We had Chicken fried steak, fried chicken, baked potato, house salads (huge!), kids corn dogs, and kids chicken tenders. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Service was slow but they are understaffed. Constance was our waitress and she was lovely.

Amazing food, I'm from the south and the dishes on this menu are on point. Best cornbread ever, and the meatloaf is off the chain. Highly recommend. Sorry the picture is half eaten.

you should visit this place, food was great huge plates and flavor is amazing, also the staff ae great. coffee was amazing and i loved the Bear scene. i will defiantly come back, i was there tree times.

Iv eaten here a lot and it’s generally decent food. Today it was terrible. I got California omelette the mushrooms were bad and completely raw not cooked at all, the potatoes were not their usual potatoes and were gross.

Black Bear diner is one of my favorite restaurant you have breakfast they have the best pancakes and waffle and I love it so I just wish we had one in New Mexico… The place wasn’t too busy so which was great and our server was great and our food came out perfect.

The wait staff that served us was great. I don't know if that's how they are trained but they were good. They serve mostly good comfort food and the "bear" theme is fun for the whole family. We had 15 in our group and everything went smoothly. They have a birthday club which is a nice perk.

Parking is close to the door. The lobby was clean and comfortable. Restrooms were clean also. The staff was friendly and the food was good. I got the fish and chips. (Also It is handicap accessible.)

We had a great night at Black Bear Diner tonight! The woman who helped us, Shailey, was absolutely amazing! She, without me even asking, offered some accommodations to help me out. Not many people would do that even with me asking. She was very polite and attentive to all of the customers as were the other people working there. The food tastes like it's been made with love, not msg ?. HUGE portions for very good prices. Meals were brought in a timely manner and were freshly made. Clean, family friendly environment with a fun, bear themed decor. I hope you all get to visit this place at some time! Great for date nights ?

Had a very good experience with my family at this location! Our waitress, Jeri, was on the ball. Making sure our drinks were filled and refilled in a timely manner as well as being kind and up spirited. Our food tasted superb. Nothing short of what we expected from a Black Bear Diner establishment. As this location met and exceeded our expectations. Thank you!!
