Had a great cup of coffee from the Grind! Fast friendly service. This coffee shop is attached to a nice novelty store. I highly recommend you stop in for a coffee and browse the nice things price right!
Lovely staff, great cappuccino and loved the books next door. The interior is brilliant!
We were traveling back to Las Vegas from Duck Creek. We wanted some coffee for the drive home and checked this place out. The staff was really friendly, the atmosphere was really "vibey." We have traveled to many many coffee shops across the United States, on all of our road trips. This was by far the best coffee shop we had been to. The whole experience was great the coffee was the most delicious coffee, omelets were tasty and everything was fair priced . Thank you!! We will be back!
The Grind has always been THE SPOT when my friends and I wanted to study, or just wanted to hangout. We loved the eclectic "cluttered" feeling. There were little knickknacks, witty signs, and maps everywhere. It was cozy, and we loved spending time there. Sometimes we would spend hours there, ordering lunch and two or three rounds of drinks. But it's changed, the coffee isn't as good, and the shop itself is starting to feel cold and sterile. Its been californiafied. There's a time and place for the white minimalism they're remodeling for but that time and place is not the grind. The menu doesn't taste as good anymore and it feels like they're moving further and further away from what made the Grind magic. The thing that made the Grind special to me and so many of my friends was the warm cozy scrapbook feeling it had. It doesn't feel like that anymore, so we've started taking our business elsewhere.
Normally it’s really good, but I just got a latte that looks like it was made for looks instead of flavor. Watching the barista create it, they filled the cup with milk, added some ice, and then drizzled the espresso shot over the top until the cup was full, leaving about half the shot unused. It tasted of slightly bitter milk, not like a coffee drink at all! And like I said, normally they’re really good, but I’ve had a few different drinks show up as 90% milk with the memory of a flavor added in, which for over $5 is not worth it at all. I like going here because when they get it right it’s fantastic, and I rather support a local business instead of the unending hoard of Seattle’s Starbucks, but whenever I get a drink that’s this watered down it makes me wonder why I spend that much money on it.
Last year I really enjoyed going to The Grind. The atmosphere was always busy but cheery with lots of fun signs and decor behind the counter and throughout the store. However, since the new owners have taken over I feel like things have gone downhill. The menu is extremely limited compared to what it was before and decor is minimal. The space no longer feels very welcoming. I honestly would rather go study in the library on campus now, at least they have food and drinks that I enjoy. I understand the expansive menu of before might not have been the easiest on the employees, but I feel like the current one could stand to have at least a few things added back.
We stopped on our way to Vegas for a coffee and breakfast. The coffee was ok, but the bagel sandwich was amazing. When we went there it had limited parking and we had to park on the street. The furniture is what you'd expect to see in your great great great grandma's basement, Kinda gross. All in all it was a pleasant stop.
They have very pleasant medium and light/ medium drip coffee available. This is remarkable, you can tell a lot about a coffee house by the quality of their drip coffee. I came back the next day and it was still good. Looks like they might roast in-house, bought two bags with roast dates within the last 30 days. Had a breakfast bagel ( fireman something ...) It was very tasty, a little spicy. I can whole heartedly recommend this place for drip coffee and breakfast.
It’s been a while (just over a year) since I had been to Grind, and I was stoked to get one of their breakfast bagel sandwiches and a coffee drink. When I walked in, it appeared very different, with a new menu and staff that were not really knowledgeable on how to a make proper espresso drink. I ordered a dirty chai latte, which came out not hot and somewhat peppermint tasting with chai. It seems like they are in the middle of flipping the place, so I understand that it could be a time where new staff are getting trained… but honestly just sad about the old menu is gone. Whenever I came in, the place was bustling, and this past time it was very quiet. I hope that they can figure out how to make real coffee drinks.
I would not recommend this place we ordered 2 drinks and both of them were flavorless and and tasted like milk. When asked to add more flavor we were given attitude.Would not come back. They used to have good food and drinks but then they got new owners and the quality went down fast
