Ordered 4 street tacos, 2 de trompo and 2 fajita and a mangonada. The mangonada has real chunks of mango, very good. The tacos were ok. I thought the meat was a little bland. The salsas were good, the red one was spicy. The place was clean and the staff was friendly.
After church we needed our authentic Mexican flavor fix so we drove to the top place in North Texas, Mijas. When we visited, we had the tradition menudo with bread ( in this part of Texas they like to give you tortillas instead of bread with menudo). My oldest had tacos ( in this part of Texas they sell them individually), my other son had a burrito with egg and beans while my little white Rhino had scramble egg. As usual, the flavor was great. The menudo needed a bit more of a kick so I added some of the red sauce given to me. I also ordered a barbacoa sope which was A+. The menudo has always needed more meat and corn but oh well. If you come from El Paso, most of the Mexican food here is below average but Mijas gives you the flavor, inexpensive price and quick service. Our meals average 50 with tip. 2 Thumbs Up when in North Texas Just remember that parking can be an issue and don't blink or you'll pass the place.
I have just tried the tacos, we got carnitas, fajitas and barbacoa and all of them were delicious and the red sauce ??? mmmm awesome, the order was to go, so I must say they packed the order very well and very generously. I want to try the whole menu.
Ayyyy mija. You’ve done messed up the tacos. No but Fr they could use some improving. My boyfriend and I both ordered Trompo tacos. The meat was a pale pinkish color which we found odd because anyone that’s had trompo knows that it’s usually a red color. The meat was tender but could’ve been more crispy and flavorful. We could hardly taste any seasoning and had to add salt to almost everything including the rice. Also coming from a Mexican I thought the music was really weird and annoying. Just not a vibe at all lol. The only reason I’m giving this place a 3 star review is because the staff was very nice and the restaurant itself was nicely unkept.
Amazing taco place. Ordered the Trompo and the Tinga, both were delicious, stacked with plenty of meat. The staff were super friendly and loved the vibe. The mango/chamoy margs are perfect for the Texas heat. The green sauce is :chef kiss: just watch out for the heat on the red sauce. Will definitely be back.
Absolutely phenomenal, authentic Mexican food! Everything was bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked. Be sure to try the trompo tacos!!
The food was fresh, hot and came fast. They had a traditional and none traditional food. I had a burger with chorizo. It was was surprisingly good.
Listen Linda…..this place is SO GOOD. The people there were friendly and awesome. My husband and I were there yesterday running an errand in Wylie. Did I stop to take pictures?? Sadly, no lol. My pregnant hungry self was over the moon to have quesabirria tacos with consommé and elotes ?. My husband got some nachos with trompo and tacos with trompo as well. Better believe I sampled those as well lol. Also delicious. The horchata and Agua Fresca (I went for melon which is one of my favorites) were the stuff dreams are made of. Will I ask for a follow up taco date? YUP!!! Will I do my darn dear to sample the desserts? YUP!
Our first time here. The food is amazing!!!! The margaritas are fantastic and not watered down. I just wish the corn in the elote was grilled or charred to add more flavor.
The tacos are good and the staff is nice, but they are very stingy with their salsa for to go orders only. For 9 tacos they gave me 3 very small cups of salsa. They will charge you without telling you it's more for beyond the small amount. Got home and the small cups less than half full. I want to go back but what's a taco without salsa?
