So waited close to 20 minutesIn line. I'm thinking ok well at least should get fresh chicken.Got order home old dry chickenSides weren't correct.Paid 30.00 for old chicken and poor service.
The cashier couldn't hear my order because she had air pods in. After 20 minutes of waiting i went to go check a and they completely forgot about it. I saw one of the workers barefoot and he noticed so he put his crock's back on. I asked for a refund and the cashier why and told me it would just be 5 more minutes.
We first had Golden Chick in Wylie and had always loved it. Our last visit there could be our last. My fried chicken was almost burnt and the wait was too long for a simple meal after Church. The new manager does not seem to like messing with "senior discounts".We still have better food and service in the Rowlett Golden Chick so far.
I am absolutely disgusted. I think there has been an ownership change recently, maybe this explains the situation that I just witnessed first hand. Today, I went thru drive thru and ordered okra. After waiting 15 minutes at the window (after paying) I was given my order. The okra was cold, hard, and awful. I immediately spit the okra back into the package, parked, and walked inside. A young lady asked what I needed, I explained. She takes the package from me, walked to the area and dumped my okra BACK INTO THE FOOD station. I was floored. I called over to the older man who helped me at the window, explained my problem and confirmed what I witnessed the lady do. He apologized and offered to cook fresh food. I couldn't imagine eating from there after watching her put the old food back into the serving area!! Mind you, I spit it out...and it went back in to be served to the next poor soul! I declined his offer and left.
Fried okra always crispy and service is pretty quick. #1 Original with the sweet tea. Wife is always happy which makes me happy. Winner winner Golden Chick for dinner! ?
Half the staff there doesn't work, they only prioritize drive thru, had us waiting 20 minutes for 2 sandwiches while the drive thru continued to move. On top of that, there was a guy who was working there barefoot. Definitely recommend if you just wanna go waste your time
The chicken is decent but is way too expensive to jip on the sides. They never have the correct side containers and always give smaller containers and use cup lids that don't even fit, it's a joke. It actually might be a good thing that their sides containers are too small because their mashed potatoes and gravy are disgusting, tastes like dirty water. Save yourself and stay away from the mashed potatoes/gravy at all cost.
Friendly experience staff, over all pleasant experience,and the food is always great, love the corn fritters, fries, rolls, and other sides, oh and the chickens great too!
I have ordered twice from this location via Uber Eats. First time 1/2 n 1/2- received all plain. Second time all Spicy- received all plain. Plus, there is no Okra offered on the Uber app with this location. These meals are too expensive to have delivered through Uber for the restaurant to get the order wrong.
Golden Chick is one of the most underrated chicken restaurants around. The chicken is hot and crispy, and the rolls are some of the best around. It is always good to see the owner of the managers actually working on the kitchen instead of just giving orders. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
