I have a limited diet however even without the bun this place is worth it. Go! Enjoy! It's a lovely old fashioned burger joint and if you like burgers you'll enjoy stopping here.
This was my 1st and last visit. My husband and I decided to give this place a try for lunch. We waited over a half hour, eating into most his lunch break, for our order only for my chicken tenders and fries to come our burned. I was disappointed. I bet the chicken and fries would've been good if they weren't burned. I didn't complain because we had to leave, so my husband could get back to work. He wasn't really impressed with his burger either after hearing about how great the burgers are here. I understand it takes a while to cook to order, so I'd order in advance if on a time crunch.
I'm going to give a 2 star review, however the food is a negative star review.First point, yes I read the reviews and the replies from the owner. I anticipated a long wait, so I have no complaint on the time frame.Second point, no the employees are certainly not friendly, much less overly so, however that also is not a complaint. I'd prefer they didn't stand and chat at each vehicle upon delivery of food, because that only delays every other order further. So, that also is not an issue for me.Finally, however, is the quality of food. As a classically trained private chef, I am probably more critical of food than the average consumer. There is no excuse for the food we received. We ordered the chicken fried steak sandwich basket. It says "mayo", that was definitely NOT mayonnaise on the sandwich. It was Miracle Whip or a version of. The steak was about 1/8-1/4" thick and fried to a burnt crisp (see photos). The fries were horrible, no salt at all when they come from the fryer, which is when they should be seasoned. Served on toast.This was a $10.00 meal with tip.
Milkshakes taste like iced milk.gravy has the consistency of waterlimeade taste like water down flat sprite with cherryfries are....like just there kinda...But at least the main food is good. I've been 3 times and the above three have always been true. Their saving grace is the actual main food. Burgers, bbq sandwich, chicken/steakfinger are all on point.
Great food, great service, great employees who deserve recognition.! The chocolate milk shake is SO good!!
I don't even care that I waited over 1 hour for my food. It was SO delicious I see now why it's been around for 50yrs.
Really mmmaazing burgers! This is a retro diner with a long history of flavor. Despite being in a very old building, the kitchen is ridiculously clean. You can tell that this place is well taken care of by people who take pride in their work.Clean vent hoods, bathrooms, and even the roof vent hood was clean and not leaking decades of grease.Amazing burger, very much like Sonic but a million times better. I asked for extra pickles and they gave me two layers with tomato I'm the middle, it was perfect.
Overall, this place was decent.I could have sworn that last time I was here the CFS sandwich wasn't made with this type of bread. I could be mistaken, but the sandwich wasn't bad!The fries were good & the DP was just alright. Tasted like the carbonation was off or too much syrup.
Old school cheeseburger ? diner … we need more of these nowadays not that frozen stuff you get from macdonalds ..The 2 gentleman working where professional and curtous… really like dThe atmosphere and the food was on point !!!
Great old place with really good burgers and some of the best onion rings ever
