Foods great waitress was awesome

My daughter and l decided to try out Cracker Barrel in Wichita Falls. The place was extremely busy but the wait time was short. We decided to shop while waiting. I needed some help with an item and the young lady accommodated me immediately. We were seated after a short wait. The waitress was very pleasant and the food was great. We just had the Chicken Salad and it was so big we could have shared just one. Over all the entire staff was great, the bathrooms were clean and l will definitely be going back.
This was my very first time actually dinning in a cracker barrel in my life...the store was cute, and clean.upon arrival we were 1 out of maybe 8 tables seated in the entire dining room.Our server was nice.the food took a long time to come out...we ordered pancakes and sausage and french toast with turkey sausage and eggs.By presentation the food seemed great! My pancakes and sausage were delicious. Meanwhile my friend was not so lucky with the French toast,egg and turkey sausage.He simply stated the eggs were UNDER cooked and the toast was too hard. We brought THE UNDERCOOKED egg to our servers attention,she quickly apologized and told us she would bring him some more eggs.Our server returned minutes later and told us that she had more eggs coming and requested that he put the UNDER COOKED eggs on a separate plate that she gave him.He did wat she requested and our server came back to the table collected the UNDERCOOKED eggs and took them back in the kitchen... MINUTES later she came back with and order of eggs that were at least scrambled well this time...needless to say my friend tasted the eggs and he was certain that the eggs were the same and still improperly cooked! By that time his french toast was so hard that if u threw it,it could have served as a mini frezzby. It was not a nice experience at all however it was Sunday morning and we just decided to grit it and bare.we will not be coming back.
The overall service was great even though our waitress was fairly new she offered suggestions and even state she cuts up her chicken and puts in her MAC and Cheese. We arrived around 3:45pm for an early dinner the waitress was quick at getting our drinks and then taking our food order. Dad ordered the meatloaf lunch special with mash potatoes ( I don't remember his second side ). Mom order the Southern Fried Chicken with okra and mashed potatoes. I order Mac and cheese and the steak fries and the chicken fried chickenUnfortunately both my chicken fried chicken and Mom's chicken didn't taste like they should Mom thinks the oil was old and needed to be changed. I removed the flower basing the use thinking that would resolve the rotten taste I was getting. But after just eating two bits was making me nauseated. The sides were great. As any good waitress does she came by to see how everything was Dad said his was fine. I apologized that I didn't like the taste I thought it tasted like old rotten chicken as if it was sitting out too long, Mom told her it smelled like it was cooked in old oil and ask her to smell it she did made a funny face and apologized and offered us something else. We both declined and told us she wouldn't charge and will tell her managerA few minutes later the manager come out apologized and again offered a replacement we again declined she then offered for us to take a meal for later she insisted so we took a Togo order mom ordered the meatloaf okra ( of course) and Mac and cheeseI just ordered a simple cheese burger (didn't know they were going to add fries with it Thank You )As with many places right now being short staffed and having new people and knowing we've eaten there many times beforeI personally want to thank our waitress and the manager for their professionalism in handling this situation and treating us with empty and understanding.I know since we never had an issue with them in the many years we've been going there since they opened We Will Be BackI'm just hoping the issues is the oil used to fry the chicken since another guest had the same issue with her chickenAnd changing the oil before the dinner rush ( if that's possible ) so other's won't go through this and ruin their good reputationWe'll let you know in a few weeks when we go back
Haven't been in along time and all not wait to go back. Service was exemplary, great job Robert J. Portions ample and hot and love the atmosphere. Great dining experience.
Took a very long time to get our food, then it was cold. When the cashier asked how everything was I told her and she stated that she heard that a few times that morning. I provided this feedback to the cracker barrel website, the sent me a nice apology and a comp. For a free dessert after I spent nearly $30 for the meal. Anyway, I'm not impressed and doubt that I'll be back.
Hit and miss on the service, they are usually really nice or really rude. The food for the most part is mostly enjoyable although at times it isn't. The manager doesn't seem to care when a complaint is made and seems annoyed. They always have a wait even when there are plenty of tables available.
My husband and I went to eat for a nice dinner date and we had probably one of the worst experiences at a restaurant. The waiter made jokes to us about the fact that we don’t eat pork due to religious reasons then tried to make a game out of it to guess what religion we were. Then proceeded to ask us our religion. My husband salad came out and had two hairs in it. They did replace it. However, our food came out and I put the white gravy on my mashed potatoes and tasted nothin
We stopped in close to 3pm. Very few patrons inside. No waiting time and the server was good. The meal appeared and tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave. You could tell the biscuits had been cooked hours ago. The hashrown casserole was very dry, as well as the chicken. We will not come in again in the middle of the afternoon.
