#1 hostess greeted us to a semi-empty restaurant and wanted to seat us at the first table closest to the door. I said, I didn't want to sit by the door, and asked to sit at a nicer booth instead. She seemed hesitant as she said, "well I would have to clean it"... it was apparent that she's more interested in easy work for her than customer satisfaction. She also doesn't know how to clean the seats apparently just like most service out there. The wipe table but not the seats. The seats were dirty and we had to ask someone else to clean it. Train your people to wipe seats down. It's embarrassing for everyone.#2 server was new and our orders were messed up throughout the night, and server Madd us wait for salad dressing because he "didnt want the chefs to get mad at him for not putting the order in sooner for them to prepare. He was more interested again in making his job easier than our satisfaction. He didn't come back quickly enough. It was not busy at all. Barely anyone there. Maybe 4 tables total. 2 hostesses were standing behind our booth on their phones and giggling, not working. Still waiting for dressing, was looking around for someone to take notice. Then a server came over and paid attention to our wandering eyes. HIS NAME IS MICHAEL and he greeted us with a smile. He also was happy when we walked in, not because of us, but just because he was. He came to our table with his backpack on about to leave and STILL served us. With. A. Smile. Brought out salad dressing in less than 2 minutes wearing his backpack. He needs a promotion. All other people think work is a game. They need a reality check. If only I had cash in my wallet, Michael would have gotten a reward. And he smiled kindly at his coworkers and left the building. A+ for Michael. He should be the manager. There was no manager on the floor either. Just some girls giggling on their phones, the hardworking sushi chefs, and our server who started off slow and then began walking fast as we approached the end of our meal.
Favorite restaurant EVER! This is our go to place any time we’re celebrating or just want really great sushi with fantastic service! Staff is amazing, food is fantastic. Deezy roll FOREVER!Also thank god you got rid of the old manager Jason. BIG YIKES!
Amazing variety of authentic sushi with quick and friendly service. Sushi restaurants generally have a dizzying array of options that can be difficult to choose from and these guys take their time to clear things up so you can choose your preferences quite easily.Fresh, delicious, and the thing that blew my mind the most was the Philadelphia hand roll with cream cheese and smoked salmon. It is WARM! You’ve never had Philly quite like this.I’ll be returning for happy hour!
Went in at off times, not busy. Waited 10 minutes for a server to recognize me. Ordered hot green tea, which was good. 15 minutes later I get the tea. I order food and receive it fairly quickly handed to me by the maker, I was at the bar. I have no silverware or chopsticks or any way to eat my food. I never saw my server again. 15 minutes after staring at food I could not eat I left. I realize staffing is in short hand but this was ridiculous. Will not return.
Always amazing! Always delicious! Favorite sushi bar by far.
My wife and I came here after reading all of the positive reviews. I realize that even the best restaurants can have an off night, but several things really stood out as going beyond an off night. Upon sitting down, we noticed that the small plates upon which the napkins and chopsticks rested where not really clean. The soy sauce bottles were unclean as well. Smoke billowed from a table nearby as food was cooking, causing smoke to drift over to our table. The hibachi beef was tough and chewy and the dumplings Mt wife ordered tasted like they came out of the frozen food section at a nearby supermarket. The waiter was polite and helpful, but the rest of our experience barely rated two stars. It was one of the few times we nearly got up and left after being seated.
Best sushi in town without any doubt. Costarica style sashimi is beyond delicious. Nasa roll, space center roll and the love at first sight roll are my favorites. So many good things to eat in this restaurant.
I came here because of the high reviews but had a surprisingly bad experience. I ordered the sushi c combo which is a chef selection plate and for $40 I was expecting a high level of quality. But sitting at the sushi bar I could see they pre-slice all of their fish. So not surprisingly the sushi came out dry and rubbery. That’s just lazy work. Even H‑E‑B slices their fish fresh when they make sushi. Also, the rice wasn’t properly seasoned, tasted bland, didn’t hold together well, and the fish didn’t stick to the rice at all. I tried one of each sushi and but couldn’t finish the rest. I paid for my meal and was ready to leave when the waitress came back and said they accidentally ran my card on another table. At this point I was wondering if this was a joke. I’d give zero out of five if I could. I was expecting at least decent quality due to the reviews but was greatly disappointed. Maybe they were having a bad day, maybe the staff is inexperienced, I don’t know, but I definitely won’t be back.
The sushi is always so fresh, and the variety for non-sushi lovers is great. My husband loves the fried rice. The wait staff and kitchen are knowledgeable about dietary restrictions. I was able to have a gluten-free meal with no worries.
I love Masa. Sushi and you can watch stros
