Loved all the food selections. TodayI had the grilled pork chops.....so delicious but I wished they were bigger...lol. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Douglas was our server today and he was amazing. Looking forward to our next visit. I plan on trying everything on the menu (not on the same visit tho).
Missed breakfast & wanted a balanced & filling meal. R&K did not disappoint. Specials were pork chops, chicken fried steak, salmon Patties & catfish. The chops & Patties caught my eye. I asked for 1 chop & 1 patty, & they charged a dollar to substitute so that made it $11.99 for the entrees; a fresh, hot, clean, very tasty baked potato ( I like to eat the skin & all); butter beans & a piece of vanilla cake. A great meal at a great price. The service was quick, friendly & thorough. A very good & pleasant experience.
We’ve been going to R&K for several years now, and we have always loved it. Unfortunately, our latest experience was absolutely terrible. We called to place an order to-go, and the woman who answered was incredibly rude, grumpy, and sarcastic. When my husband went to pick up the order, the same woman was rude to him as well. He stated that he was there to pick up an order and she shrugged her shoulders and walked away. Eventually she came back with our food but she definitely did not leave her grumpy/sarcastic attitude behind.Also, R&K has always been generous with their portions but this time, you would have thought we were in a global okra shortage or that okra is going extinct! Ultimately, this place is no longer what it used to be, and it’s terribly sad.
R&K II always serves up excellent home cooking meals with great service for reasonable prices. We have dined in thousands of 4.5 to 5 star restaurants in 48 of the 50 states and in about 20 foreign countries. We seldom find any food we don't like. Their Spanish omelet is the best omelet I have had and every breakfast I have is always compared to R&K IIs Spanish omelet. They stay very busy, especially from 6a.m. to about 2p.m. and you will often have a wait to get in, but it's worth it!
I have driven past this place for many years as I had business to attend in Weatherford and have never stopped until today. Oh Man!!! Have I been missing out on this gem. I miss the small town restaurant atmosphere. Love the hospitality where you feel right at home. The food was the most amazing comfort food. I will drive out there to eat again for sure. Fast,friendly service, in and out in 25min. This is a great thing. I had the chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy, eggs and hashbrowns. Yum! If you haven't been here. You are missing out. Must Go!!!
First off we love R&K and eat there frequently. We recently ordered to-go(4/27/22 7:30pm) and upon entering the employee at the register was very unpleasant. When I approached the counter she rolled her eyes and made the comment that “she was glad that tomorrow is her day off”. We ordered over $30 worth of food including 2 salads. I noticed that they didn’t provide much salad dressing and requested additional. We have ordered salads many times previously and they usually provide us with enough. I was informed that due to prices increasing that I would have to pay $5.99 a cup for additional dressing. She informed me that they can’t just give dressing away for free. This was unacceptable to me. I have been ordering salads from this place for 4 years and have never had an issue like this. The salads are $11 and should come with enough dressing. The lady/manager also told me that I could go buy my own at the store for $1.99. Again if I’m buying a salad it should be provided with meal. It’s sad that a business would really care about saving a few cents on salad dressing and lose a frequent customer.
1 star because zero stars isn't available. 2:10pm on a Thursday at the R&K Cafe in WEATHERFORD and waited over 30 minutes for food to be delivered to our table. All 3 orders were cold when we finally got our food. I mean so cold that the butter never melted on the baked potatoes. The garlic butter for the grilled shrimp had started to harden. Asked for well done fried okra and it was delivered soft mushy and cold. We were astonished by the service and food quality. We have eaten at the R&K Cafe in Hudson Oaks many times and thought this location was just as good,but we were wrong. We will always eat at the HUDSON OAKS R&K CAFE FROM THIS TIME FORWARD.
Huge time waster, arranged to meet family at the address shown, and total confusion. Hour and a half later we managed to meet at the current, correct, address. Unfortunately, with everyone in a not great frame of mind, the food was not great as well. Well, must admit the seasoned French fries were terrific.
Nice homey place. I liked the bible verse on the chalkboard menu. The staff are very polite and nice and the service was quick even though they were pretty full at 10:30 am. The food was a disappointment though. The grilled vegetables were barely edible & the house salad was yucky & small.
Delious homecooked meals at a great price. Sunday lunch is wonderful. They do clos at 2:00 on Sundays so don't be late.
